I would like to hear some experiences from anyone who is using a pressure switch to activate their water injection. I'd be interested to hear about nozzle size, psi settings vs RPMs, and if any bogging issues.
I'm switching over to a new fuel management that has programable outputs, and i would like to integrate my water injection kit along with it. I dont' see any possible way the progressive controller will work like its supposed to if i decide to take advantage of the output controls.
thanks

I've been using mine for about 9 months now. I originally had a M4 injector switching on at 15psi. I ran it for about 3 months, after a few data logs at the track I realised it was to small and wasn't doing enough, so I upgraded to an M7 injector. My engine mangment system has the abililty to turn the pump on based on RPM/Knock/TPS, but haven't botherd wireing it up. I'm still rocking the boost switch.. I Don't think I'm going to either. I'm more then likely going to go with the Digital Progressive Controler from Veri-cool. I've spent a good amount of time on the phone with David from coolingmist, who designed the controler. The problem with normal injection systems are that the are active between the diffrent pressure points in the switch. The 150psi Shurflo pump comes active at 110psi and switches off around 160psi so its allways regulating based on voltage and never consistent. So when you use any enginmangment, or boost swith that activates the system; unless that system is able to control the voltage to the pump they all essencually work the same aside from how they are activated.
As David explained it his Veri-cool Digital Controler uses 2 diffrent inputs to control activation points(0-5v and/or map). You can also use the software that comes with the controller to create maps, and the very best feature; Contole the voltage to the pump anywhere from 10% to 100%. Obviously giving you the ability to ramp up the injection pressure with your torque curve, peak cylinder pressure, exc. Pretty neat for $199. He also mentioned a new wideband tracking product that will be available this febuary that will piggyback onto his controller. Veri-cool cool! (pun)

Injection systems are great for pump gas. I've never used Race gas with Methanol injection. I not sure there is a significant advantage in performance uless your running a crappy tune.

After reading your post i just realized that i won't need a pressure switch! duh... I can just wire it straight up to my ECU which will trigger depending on load, tps, rpm, and/or mph. Sweet, less money to shell out... I'm super excited out this new system i got, its even got 2 sets of secondary maps to go along with each output. I can't wait till it warms up somemore.
You know... i was once told by my accounting professor who is a major electronics geek that varying voltage will destroy electric motors- one reason why i was kind of intrigued by Devil's Own's progressive controler, they manipulate the pump through pulse width.... but probably not a big deal since coolingmist has probably sold a shitload of kits with no major problems. Anyway, once i get my car all setup with the new system, i might put the controler up for sale, you can try it out if you'd like, if you havn't got the cooling mist unit.
