Shannon at POWDERTECH does a great job. He is located just outside the industrial park kind of by the emission test station. He has been at it the longest and always turns out a quality product.

I paid $25.00/wheel to coat mine gunmetal gray. If you are choosing a color that they run regularly, and can wait a bit, they will just fit your stuff in. If you need an exotic color then youll be paying setup fees as well.

I was thinking about antricite grey for the wheels I want to powdercoat.

They can handle hi-temp coatings and can do a satin silver finish or grey but they dont have the vibratory polisher to make silver look shiny. Evergreen does it too but nobody in town has the polisher. If polished is a must then you have to send it to RM Engineering in oregon. Locally, Tim Zimmerman at PMS can do a great job!

I should've grabbed the manifold too. Oh well, next time. probably just want it grey or black. Evergreen quoted VERY expensive for the valve cover I wanted done.

Ok. So just got a call from Powdertech on the rest of my parts. Water pipe, thermo-housing, ps top, and one more thing cost me $100 blasted and coated. I'm not too happy about it either. Too expensive for my taste. Figured I'd update the thread. Good quality, but the price is far from affordable. Not sure I would recommend again.

Back from the dead.
Anyonne know how much it would be to do 4 wheels?
Also what kind of prep work needs to be done before a wheel gets powdercoated?

Take them to my guy, Quality powdercoating in Hayden, they did my wheels. It was $250 for all the wheels. The only thing you need to do, is get the tires taken off, and valve stems out. They will sandblast and do all the prep work. Mine had bad road rash on them, brake dust and they cleaned them. They tryed something for me and did the SRT in red then powdercoated them black, and it dident turn out as good as I wanted, so the same day they took them back in, re sandblasted them and redid them all at no cost. When doing wheels I would only trust them, you have to make sure they dont heat them to much and make them crack at high speeds. Remmber mine are also 20's They did 5 coats on them. I droped them off at 8AM came by at noon to see the first job and I came back at 5 and they were done.

I'd be quite bothered by the quality if they were able to sandblast their first attempt off...good poweder coat job doesn't sandblast off in one day without putting up a fight.

I'm gonna pick up another set of rear 18's so I can run 18's all around, then I'm going to go to the hardware store and get longer bolts so I can tuck tire on all 4's
