if you are mechanically incline, if its just the seals that need to be replaced you can do it yourself with a rebuild kit. Its actually quite easy. I ordered a rebuild kit from turbocity for $90 and rebuilt mine last year.

But if its more than what you want to deal with then i'm sure turbonutz can do it also.

To be honest I would rather just rebuild the whole thing since I would be tearing it apart already. I could probably pull it of... lol

well, to get to the seals assuming its a dynamic seal you will have to take the CHRA apart anyway, thats why the rebuild kits come with thrust bearing, journal bearing, dynamic seal, and other misc. stuff.

if the shaft play is so bad that the compressor or turbine wheel has scrubbed the housings then the turbo is garbage.

why do you want to rebuild it anyway?

dsm turbos are spin balanced also, generally the home re-builds only last a few hundred miles if that and then grenade.

i'm pretty sure that garrett t3/t4s are no different from DSM turbos in that the turbine shaft/wheel and compressor wheel are balanced separately. Just make sure to mark the compressor wheel in relation to the shaft/turbine wheel before dissasembly for extra insureance. I'm not saying that its not good practice to get the wheel/shaft balanced, but what i'm saying is that its not completely nessasary if the turbo is in good working order.

Yah, just mark the shaft to the compressor wheel. It's pretty easy.
