Well I know that nobody will probably be able to answer this but i'll ask anyways.. most awd turbo dsm's that i see that are black have the silver on the bottom yet mine doesnt, most awd turbo dsm's are GSX's well.. mine is wierd.. its titled as a GS and the badge says its a GS, yet the vin decodes as a GSX.. and i have yet to see a black GS or GSX whatever it is with silver along the windows.. its wierd.. just thought i'd ask if anyone knew more than i do on the subject.. because i know nothing hah (pictures are on its cardomain in the signature if ur curious)

If it's AWD it's a GSX. I think one person with a lot of money and little brain had RRE swap their FWD 1G to AWD and it cost them about $10k because of the huge differences between the cars. It's nothing like the 2Gs where the swap 99% bolt on.

well i know you can change the badging easy enough, but i didnt know you could change a title? hm.. i'll have to ask the licencing dept. sometime i guess.

A friend of mine had a 90 FWD turbo and it had the same badging. I don't know for sure but I'd say all of them were "GS" in 1990 or maybe just early 1990. Maybe the 1000 already asked questions on vfaq would tell you.

a few people did it on the spyders since they only came FWD, I believe ari was the first and his car was featured in sport compact car.
As far as the badging/titling someone probably removed the X since it looks gay being red and all, and I'm guessing it does'nt have the X on the title since early 90's GSX was seen as a trim line.

1990s are the worst dsm to own. literally, it was there first full production year of the vehicle and they messed up a lot of stuff on them.

90's had external air/oil coolers. That was about all.

The ecu was diff., as well as the cam ange sensor, coil-pack, cruise control, no option of ABS, The guage cluster wiring, the upper intercoolor piping and the way the bov sat. There are quite a few differences. Nothing major, but for things like coil-pack, expect to spend alot more and the same for eprom ecu. And yes the external oil cooler which also means that the piping for the coolant for the turbo is different as well. Sorry Scott, not trying to belittle ya, but this is all stuff i had to find out the hard way with the 90.

quite a few of the 90 ecu's were eprom at least since they were a first year model, kinda like 95 ecu's. 90 coil pack has tach output built into it for an external tach, kinda neat I have one laying around if anyone ever needs one.

eh.. i dont mind having a first production year car, just means more things to learn, if the fun of driving a car isnt enough the fun of learning about how to do various things to a car is awesome, which im sure plenty agree to, (except for when it becomes a hastle like i hear many DSM's do)

DSMs only become a hassle when you make them that way, crankin up the boost without supporting mods and drivin hard everywhere. just like any other car.

I think scott meant the only thing better was the air/oil cooler. Everything else is worse.
