Well, I am now considering selling my car. It is a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse that I bought in December with hopes of fixing it up and using it as a track car/weekend car. You can see the parts I bought for the car on it's website, www.spokanespeed.net/eclipse . I have a clean title in hand. Most recent pics can be seen at www.spokanespeed.net/eclipse/pictures/6-27-06 . When I bought the car, it had the dash stolen from it. I replaced the dash with a 1992 Talon's dash - same thing. I am not 100% sure how many miles the car actually has because the dash was missing, but the previous owner stated that the timing belt broke at around 79k mikes, and that the car sat for a few years awaiting fixing, but it never happened. I bought the car, installed a rebuilt head, ARP head studs, and an OEM Composite HG. The car runs as is, but only with the MAS unplugged. When I plug in the MAS, the car dies. I have tried a new ECU and MAS, both of which did not solve the problem.
This is NOT a turn-key car. It starts and runs, but would need work to be reliable. This would be a great project racecar. I also have access to a 4-bolt rear end for this car. Comes with Spare ECU, 2 spare heads, 3 sets of spare camshafts, spare MAS, stock wheels with bad tires, misc. dash pieces.
This car has the LSD, as well as EPROM. The interior is very nice for a car of this age. Erik (97GSX) and Scott (96GSX) can vouch for this car and the time/money that has gone into it.
The rear driver side quarter glass is there, but needs to be glued in by a glass shop. This was broken when the car was robbed. I have replaced the glass, but it is not completely secure.
Car has no head unit, but the speakers are all there - unknown condition.
Car does NOT have ABS.
Brakes are good
Alignment is good
Car shifts into all gears fine - no wierd noises.
Car had new 14b turbo before i bought it - not rebuilt - new.
1 month old tabs.
Low Retail = $2,000
Average Retail = $2,850
High Retair = $3,475
I believe the car, in it's current condition, would be between low and average retail. I am open to all offers, but will not accept anything unreasonable. Just because I have documented how much things have costed me on my website, that does not mean that I will take that price. I have put a ton of time into this car. I know what these cars are worth, and what it is worth to me.
In addition, if you know why the car does not run, I am offering a $200 reward to anyone who can solve the problem. This does not mean that I am going to go out and buy part after part until the problem is solved, then give you $200 - you need to be correct without guessing tons of times.
I am open to trades.
I can be reached here, or you can call me. 509-280-6106. Car is located in Deer Park.
