I figured you can get your own thread too since everyone else has one :)
Can you or Cher send me a picture of where you guys hid your 2.5/3 bar MAP sensors?

That reminds me... I need to secure mine somewhere safer. Currently the 3 bar is zip tied to the fuel line comming off the fuel filter. haha....

Hey Meng, Id totally start another thread with your name in it but someone else seems to have beat me to it. But anyhoo, Ive got a friend of mine getting ready to build a new setup for her ride, and we wanna do something real close to what youre running, unless you can suggest something better. Pretty much we're hoping for 250+ to the wheels on a turbo setup. I was just wondering if you have some means to get ahold of you cuz ive found you to be very knowledgable in the honda area. Pretty much Im looking for block recommendations, head, turbo setup, tuning, mounts, tranny, everything. This is my first honda build/swap. (Ive done other swaps though). Its going in a 91 crx FYI. so if youd be willing to give us a hand, if you could pm me your number, Id like to sit down and talk with ya on getting this started.
thanks
Brandon

Meng will probably kill me but go B-series and you can hit 350 whp with the same set up you might hit 250 in on a D

Every second gen and third gen Integra. 94-97 Del Sol VTEC, 99-00SI, Honda CRV
The tranny's are a lot better too :)

It just depends on what you want to do and how much cash you want to throw at it. If you have aspirations to make 400+ then go b-series, if not then you can build a single cam setup for a fraction of the price of a B-swap.
really, for the money, you are getting the most hp per dollar.
There are guys making really good power with vtec and non vtec SOHC motors, so the great thing is just boost what you have if you are on a budget.
I'm running a set of Suzuki Vitara pistons and Eagle knockoff rods. So thats about $350 into my motor + misc stuff. You can find more info on Honda-tech.com, just do a search. They are a cast piston but they have been proven to take abuse quite well, guys are making 400whp range on them.
as for a custom turbo setup, you can find sponsors in the Honda-tech for sale forums for all your needs. Make sure to check out all vendors thoroughly as to avoid scammers. word gets around quick!
For fuel and ECU chipping needs, contact Chris at Xenocron either by Xenocron.com or 973.846.7872
Real good customer service and reliability!
And as for the whole B versus D thing, my whole philosophy on this build was keeping a tight budget in mind. i guess you just have to ask youself how much power is reasonable in a fwd STREET car? and then take the most cost effective route to get there. If i had more than 400whp in mind it wouldn't be a street car build, it'd be a race car and probably B-series. But for street/strip duty D-series are cheap fun.
and its much more satisfying after whoopin on B-series guys! :P

I can a D be built and swapped (with tranny) for under $1500? What about using the stock motor thats already in there?
KryptoSol

$1500... probably not. Take whatever figure you hope it'll cost and double it, that'll be your total costs.
I started with a $2000 budget, its probably ended up to be more like $4000 or more. And thats doing all of my own labor.
you could probably do a junkyard setup but you'll find quickly that you end up replacing those parts a second time around.

Well you can swap in a stock D-series for way less than $1500, and you can also piece together a turbo kit (homemade) within that $1500, but it's not going to be all that great of a set up (IN MY OPINION).
Fast, Cheap, Reliable...pick 2.
It's a pretty true saying. Back to the D vs. B thing, ultimately the quality of your parts will make the biggest difference in how much power your car will make. I would rather have a D with nice turbo components than a ching chong meowed (SS autochrome) B any day.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of the D is that you can blow 3 D series motors easily and still not be out as much money as if you blow up 1 B-series.

i choose cheap and reliable (although those two seem to contradict each other..haha) owell, my car's still running :D

EDIT: Suzuki Vitaras are Hyperreutectic, better than cast not as good as forged.... 15% more silicone in the metal, therfore dissapates heat better. :D
