Throw Out Bearing

I'm desperate (insert stupid guy comment here :P )

My throw out bearing is going out. It just started today (Sat). The squeaking only happens when the car first starts going after being turned off. After about 30 seconds or so, the squeaking stops. No slippage of the clutch but I did notice the car vibrating/shaking when the squeaking happens as I'm accelerating.

I CANNOT afford to go to a garage because they don't do payment plans. I understand it will be a bitch to get to because the tranny needs to come out.

Is anyone willing to point me in the right direction to get it done and not charging me as much labor costs as a garage would? I think I will be ok with the part cost....NAPA told me $46 for the American and $20 for the Chinese <~~~LOL I haven't tried Schuck's yet but I'm assuming it will be about the same cost.

Mr Clutch ?? on the northside is really reasonable. If you're doing the throw out bearing u might as well do the clutch. The bearing can go a long time before actually failing. Save some money and plan for it. Especially if it just squeeks for a few seconds.

you could always bring it down to me and I'll charge far less than book as long as there is a happy ending involved.

LOL Yea, I plan on just replacing the clutch since I know it comes with the throw out bearing. I got the price down to $100 at NAPA but I have to wait until I get money...MAYBE not till next payday (the 27th :( )

How much would you charge for labor?

I've seen cars go for YEARS with squaking throw out bearings, just put some money aside for it and have it done when you afford it.

Thanks, while that does make me feel better, I still want to cry when I hear that horrible sound lol I'm just so afraid of ruining my car.

worst case as I see it, throw out bearing explodes, breaks the fork, mabey dings up the pressure plate some, pressure plate would be getting replaced anyways, and fork you could probably get from pull and save for a couple bucks :-)

Poor poor April, just turn the radio up louder!!, I've got a u-joint that only squeeks in reverse, So I turn the radio up louder and the noise disappears.
