I haven't been here for awhile due to work and the talon taken most of my time, so I thought I would swing on by and let you guys know how the testing with the talon has been coming along.

My 1st trip out to the track on opening day I snaped the t-case output shaft right on the line, so I was unable to make any passes, packed up and went home.

I fixed the t-case and replaced the driveshaft yoke and headed back out the next weekend. Was able to get some passes without any breakage.

Best run of that day was a 9.70 @153mph, I was having major problems getting the car to launch right, it would bog out of the hole, lurch past the 60ft. and fall on it's face, come back online about 150ft out.

Now after that weekend I made a few changes to the car, mostly on the 2step for the most part, I got sick of the AEM EMS 2step so I put a MSD DIS2 ingnition box in the car and used the 2step off of that.
Headed back out to the track. 1st pass of the day I went 9.61 @153mph with a spining 1.611 60ft, cool, the MSD 2step works like it should, the thing just riped all 4 hoosiers through 1st, 2nd and bits of 3rd gear, track prep was junk.
Next pass the car got alittle out of hand through 2nd gear so I lifted and aborted the run, the 3rd pass I finnally got to feal what tire shake was like, not wheel hop, but tire shake. And holy hell it scared the crap out of me. It happened in 2nd gear and I had no Idea what was going on, so I lifted on that pass and aborted the run.
4th and final pass I made was and is my new personal best, MPH wasn't as good as the car was extremely hot due to some dragster that took his sweet time to do his burn out, back up, and stage the damn thing, I waited for damn near 5 minutes for him to get done screwing around.

Brought the car up on the 2step and glanced at the coolant temps, it was at 202 degrees:eyes: I still managed my new best.

Here is a run down of that pass.
60ft. 1.524
330ft. 4.183
1/8th. 6.321
MPH 120.65
1000. 8.086
1/4 9.573
MPH 152.33

And video of my 9.61 @153mph and 9.57 @152mph passes. You will notice the nice wheel spin:bigthumbs:

Enjoy guys, hope to break deeper into the 9's and high 8's by the end of the season. 2 times at the track and I allready have shaved off 0.2 tenths off. Car is only getting faster.
Oh and these passes were with 41lbs of boost and 100shot of nitrous for spool only (nitrous shuts off at 33lbs)

Nice work man, nice to see your getting somewhere with the car. suck you couldnt get the AEM 2-step sorted out, but it seems like youve got it under control. Nice work man, should just keep getting faster and faster.

Thanks guys! The car is on hoosier quick time pro's, they wrinkle down like none other:bigthumbs: I'm making a few little changes before the next time I head out. Should work out pretty well.

Damn 153 mph, that's so fast.

What's up with all the red lights? Or did you just not care?

Couple of things about the red light, they still haven't fixed the roll out on the beams at firebird, there messed up. I can damn near wait for the green and it still red lights me lol. Another reason is the e-brake just does not hold it anymore, I'm pre-loading the clutch on the 2step, car starts to creep through the e-brake. That is one of the changes I am making this next week or so, I am puting a hydraulic staging brake in the car, it's a hand brake, same one alot of the drifters use. This way I will beable to pre-load the car alot more and hold the car in one spot.

Also it was just test-n-tune so it didn't matter to me, the R/T has nothing to do with ET. Also there were only 2 times I red light the other 2 the green bulbs wheren't working for some stupid reason.

I was wondering myself. It does look like you are waiting for green before going and red lighted when you didn't. I can see the very small creep you are talking about off the line. with a different break you will be much better off.

Yeah the car is setup for a pro tree, I can't stand the .5 tenths light, it's gay as shit. When I goto bigger events with quick 8's it's heads up pro-tree rather then the bracket tree crap. On a pro tree on I pwn everyone:P

Yeah I knew that R/T doesn't mean shit I just figured if someone with your experience is red lighting the shit out of their car there would be a reason. Makes sense about the e-brake!
