Yeah we will see. It's some of the old crome developers who got together to make their own program.
I'm personally just going to wait until the new version of crome comes out. If i'm going to pay for something, it's going to be Hondata or Neptune

Its the new rom editor everyone is raving about, but considering how long it took for Neptune to actually hit the market, i'd say ECtune won't be out for at the very least 6months to a year.
Just like Neptune and Hondata i'm positive that ECtune will require some sort of internal board to be installed along with the ECU, and that kind of production takes forever.

Their designind it just run with the ostrich. So the program is going to be like 250 and then 200 for an ostrich if you dont have one. and it can only be used on one car. so for 450.....i dont know. just have to wait. but they guys that are testing it say it surpasses crome, neptune, hondata. pretty big words!

But if you already have an ostrich you can sell it and pick up Neptune for just a little bit more than that :)

yea, I know... Gotta keep options open...you like it alot? I realy dont know what I want to use, everything has it's down falls... Until I get my car boosted I can kind of play around with whats out there and make my decision. Just to make you happy Neptune is deff. one of my favorites so far, and btw I got my ostrich for a good deal.

Oh i see what they are doing, its gonna be like how the first gen Hondata systems used to be with the pocket emulator thinggy.
There is no doubt the software is gonna be a robust tuning tool, but i just got a bad taste in my mouth for the Ostrich unit.
I think each system will have hits strengths and weaknesses. I see Hondata's biggest weakness is that their ECT and IAT dosn't even work as well as Cromes, although its got a user friendly and pretty interface.
Neptune is a no frills system, everything works like its supposed to when its supposed to. My only hang up is that its interface isn't as easy on the eyes as its competitors.
eCtune is hitting the market with some new features such as ignition cut, and its interface is easy to use with lots of bells and wistles. The only potential problem i see is the fact that its a very very new system, and if you've been in the rom editing community long enough, the developers look at the system as a work in progress, which means lots of bugs, where as other units are polished. But time will only tell... the bottom line is that its just a tool, hp is still gonna be dependant on the tuners ability to use the tool.

Well... everyone has to start somewhere its just a matter of how bad you want to learn how to use the tools. I actually don't know very much...lol... my knowledge is a very narrow scope, and basiclly limited to SOHCs and manipulating the little values in the cells. :)
I recently got married and i'm working on graduating very soon so ive decided to no longer take on any projects. But i'll still be on this forum and i am more than willing to help answer any questions... most likely i won't have all the answers though. :)

Im on crome, but looking for something that i know i will not outgrow. Thats why i was also looking at aem ems a while back. Too much money though. I dont, right now im not doing enough to warrant spending a ton of money on an ems. So crome will have to do.

its funny how many editors are available for honda. When i used to have my teg and i used chrome i thought it was the best thing since turbo. when i switched to my crx obd0 and got into BRE i love it too. i do know that both crome and BRE have their downfalls like someone said, but they get the job done. what both of those programmers didn't have going for them is previous HONDA editor experience. Im thinking because eCTune's programmers have allready created a decent editor and know what and what not to do,.. it should be good. my two cents anyway.

I agree, that is one thing that I like about this editor. But we have to wait to get it, and see what it is like, it should be good!
