So last night Im lyin in bed, worked my ass off all weekend, ready to pass the hell out, just kinda lyin there about to pass out when my car alarm starts screamin like a mofo 20' outside my open window. I jump to the window and watch the shadow of the piece of shit haulin ass towards his own ride, by the time I had my glasses on, he had already gone screamin down the street in his little white datsun truck (loud as fuck).

First experience with a car thief personally. I just moved into (what i thought) is a nice neighborhood this weekend(compared to my previous felony flats).

Goes to show, you cant escape the BS just by moving to a nice neighborhood.

FYI: Ive got two separate alarms in my car on separate circuits (factory and DEI) and both are activated by one remote. Even if they get by one, the other is there to help provide a "backup plan."

ill be using the garage tonight...

Did you report it to the police? If you haven't yet, you should. They have an online form that is easy to fill out. Grant it, they won't be able to do anything, but if there are enough reports in your area with the same description, they can then do something. They don't know to increase efforts in any given area without knowing there is a problem.

Seriously, it doesn't matter what neighborhood you're in. If you were a thief, wouldn't you want to go to the nice hoods for better quality stuff? Or shop in your own hood where everyone has a tape deck or pull out stereo still.

Glad it saved your ass. Garages are a must for me after my experiences.

The only thing i wish had gone differently would be that the car had a 2-way alarm/pager and the car was on silent, that way I could have gotten my roomate and gone out and beat his ass.

Thiefs and criminals are idiots......I sure miss my car alarm I had on my '98 Mustang....it had such a radius that if someone walked by less than 5 feet it would go off!

Word. My old car had one also. Like once a week it could go off because of whatever animals. I didn't unhook it either because the neighborhood wasn't the best. Its a double edge sword.
