so curious, did it open on time & was it a cluster fuck?

LOL

Question: I'll ask here since the idiot that responded on myspace has no idea how to read/comprehend! OK...occasionally I will race my car. Nothing fancy a v-8 5.0L STOCK convertible. Several times when I have raced I got thru tech. One time, however, some guy mentioned how I need to wear a helmut. WHY?! First of all there is no way I'm getting past 120mph, second of all I don't race with the top down and lastly we sign our lives away therefore what is the "concern" with us getting hurt or killed or wrecking our lives? Not like SRP can get sued! Hell, our insurance won't even cover damages if that occurs out there!

SOoooooo, is it REQUIRED that I wear a helmut when out their racing???

im not sure. i would think just because you drive a convertible is the reasoning behind it. i know my husband has to wear a helmet, but then again he has a fast rabbit. not sure on his mustang yet, & i dont have to wear one in my mustang so....

Helmets are required with drop tops,T-tops,open roof cars or rods, even large moon roofs..But its SRP a bungie cord and a throttle return spring gets you in the 10's..lol
You must have got a guy who thinks he can change the race scene but making a point to you about the brain bucket..i heard the SRP security had a case of the steven segual kick ass and beat up some people..Boy this sounds like a great place to take my wife and kids to?? Slap me silly but i think the place is being run by Juviniles..Maybe they should get some pep's in there that have racing wisdom and maturity..going down hill fast it seems..

I know the NHRA rules do not apply but it is a good safety rule. In NHRA anycar 13.99 or faster is REQUIRED to wear a helmet wether it is a Convirtible or a Hard top, and it is required at all times for verts, t tops ot moon roof cars.

No need for name calling! I'm the guy who handles the mysapce account for S.R.P.! As I have told lots of people if you have the top down yes you need a helmet! if you have the top up you do not need a helmet! If you cared you would wear one regardless because in the event something bad happened and you ended up on your cloth roof you would be in a world of hurt! A helmet could possibly save your life it doesn't matter if your going 20 or a 120 bad things could happen regardless! Even if you sign your life away we still care weather you live or die!

As far as the Steven segual guy he was a new member of the security personal who will not be back! He was out of line and it has been taken care of! We apologize for anyone who had to witness it and that type of event will not happen again!

wow you're a friendly one. The IDIOT and yes I will call names if I choose had no clue what I was talking about and was essentially talking out his ASS. Wasn't even on topic with what I was saying. Taking it personal? Do you have 2 accounts on myspace then?

That's great that you "care" if we live or die but out there I would believe it's A CHOICE. AND AGAIN, I NEVER RACE WITH MY TOP DOWN...IF I DID I WOULD DEFINATELY WEAR A HELMUT. And, I never did claim that my convertible top would save my life if I were to roll. I'm telling you now, one out of a million chances would I be SO stupid as to take a sharp turn going at a fast amount of speed.

Do you enforce the seatbelt law out there? Oh HELL no because no one has ever been told to keep their seatbelt on. How about some consistancy here?

WOW April calm down! Damb, You have to understand he dosen't have anything to do with Tech so he cannot quote you the rules that's not his job. He is trying to keep people informed, but there are so many things going on that he has NO control over. So it's not??Fair to hold it against him. He is security and that he dose what he can within the limits.
YA AND I CARE SO WEAR THE DAMB HELMET!

Wow, So where did you pick up the fact that I was being mean! mustang girl? I was simply informing you sorry if my post came off as being mean ,and we do legitimately care if you guys get hurt and I do try to keep an eye out while I'm doing staging and so dose the line but as we get busy and have so much going on there's only so much I can pay attition to and still effectively do my job! Yes Mrsturobunuts we did open on time and started racing on time promptly @ 9 O' clock as we will continue to do so as long as any unforeseen events i.e. cars rolling at the top end don't happen! I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the confusion and unprofessional running thus far from us out @ S.R.P. you have to keep in mind that with new management come s new confusion we are working hard to make things consistent but with all things it is going to take time and patience from both us the staff and you the consumer. We will make this fun and enjoyable event again! Thank you for your patience thus far we appreciate your continued support and I thank you for your time.

People don't roll only in turns. There's all kinds of possible incidences that could cause a roll over. And every time I read helmut I picture some evil dog. I'm not mocking your spelling, I really did.

Sorry I would have answered you but I have no idea what goes on other than what I see for concessions. But it has been crazy lately but not so much with the racing just the spectators. And the battle for ownership crap.

its all good... we just dont see the sense in going out & paying to not race or only race once, which is why i ask. i would love to take my car out & make a few passes...this is one of the things holding me up on going, & waiting for chris to get his car done so he can hand me my ass LOL

Well last weekend was busy because they had the road racers there. Boring to watch! Every where was blocked off. High school drags are when to go not to many people and make more runs.

Thanks for checking on that for me...it's a long story...

I feel that's a wise decision to try and keep the costs low. Gas prices are way up therefore everyone else seems to be upping their prices. Nice to see at least one place lowering their prices.
