Look what I found at Home Depot! *56k beware*

Was driving around my small town today when I spot'd an interesting looking car parked at Home Depot.
I drove over and snap'd some pictures and talked to the owner who was probably in his 60's.

It was a beautiful car, I'm sure you can tell what it is from the pics. Almost as rare as my car in the States. He wasn't from Canada, he imprted it through Florida.

Sadly my car was very dirty for the pics.

You can import Skylines into the US now almost no problem. So they are still cool to see but anyone can get one really.

Edit: In before some Ukrainians try to steal that bitch!

They are still illegal imports. The R33 is the main one that you can import only because it has OBDII and both drivers side and passneger side airbags. There are loop holes though, this guy is planning on registering it as a kit car.

There are no plates yet because he couldn't get it registered in Washington (that's why he was in Idaho). You can't see it in the pics but he has a WA temp permit in the back window.

Skyline is in my opinion more rare than your GT4 cause we had Celicas over here...so as far as crash standards go not very hard to make it legal...both of us are in Idaho so emissions aren't worth arguing :D

Skyline is only legal for road use if imported by MotoRex which has stopped importing since the owner got felony smoking crack or something stupid.

anyhow...very very sexy car. I bet he laid down a lot of money for that.

yeah, I guess his is more rare depending on how you look at it. Mine is one of 5000 made (homologation purposes: WRC) and one of 1800 from Japan, awd, turbo, a lot of different styling compared to the "USDM" celicas. I have had 5 of the awd turbo US versions but they are very different cars. I know of one other GT-four RC in the states and it's a '91 (pre-facelift) and not street legal.

I guess I was calling mine more rare because there are atleast 5+ R34's in the states. I almost bought an R32 last year. I flew to Florida to get it and the guy back'd out, and closed all contact so I had to fly back empty handed. That's when I pick'd up the RC.

I've Read a lot about MotoRex though I think they only imported one R34 (I may be completely wrong, which wouldn't be a surprise). They focused more on the R33's due to the 96-98 versions having dual airbags and they were easier to meet DOT standards.

I don't know if you know this but I work at Parker in the service dept...you came in quite awhile ago and another guy and I were wondering just how many that generation GT4's got imported, figured it wastn' very many. Toyota was good at keeping the good shit from us...GT4 Celica, BEAMS MR2, VVT-i 2JZGTE, 20valve 4AGE

For some reason my Toyota Oil filter doesn't seem to have the anti-drainback working for it. My head is terribly noisy when I start the car.

there are the following kinds of 5th gen celicas that are awd turbo:
-All-trac (United States, about 1800 imported)
-GT-four (worldwide, unsure of the number produced. It's a narrow body version)
-GT-four A (pretty much the same as an All-trac but was produced outside the states)
-GT-four Group A (Austrailia, 150 made. These are part of the 5000 wrc cars)
-GT-four Carlos Sainz (mainly available in the UK, but was available elsewhere, named after the Rally Car driver, 3050 of the 5000 wrc cars)
-GT-four RC (Japan only, 1800 made, 1800 of the 5000 wrc cars. I'm sure a good majority of them have been turn'd into half-clips by now)

The All-trac could be considered more rare then my car since there were fewer badged as All-tracs. They have the air2air intercooler, they lack the LSD in the rear, window visors, and MOMO Toyota steering wheel. My car also came with two sets of the OZ rally wheels, I sold one set and the other is in storage. There are a bunch of minor changes and some big cosmetic changes also but I'm sure you already know about that stuff.

I'll be bringing my new All-trac in once I pick it up at the end of July. I will be needing some Genuine Parts for her... needs the water pump replaced.

guess i didn't see ya then today. Once in awhile they do that I have no clue why...then again no idea why they put the filter on side of block. Some advice...Red TRD filters are the best but are special order from japan, last time I talked to our parts guys they weren't to excited about trying to order a filter 8 weeks out....so thats why these guys are good Nengun (http://www.nengun.com/trd/sports-oil-filter)

Stay away from USA made TRD filters (white) Theyre made by Mobil1
