I spent 4 hours under my son's 89 4cyl car last night changing out the A4LD trans. Got the used on in and DAMN! Same problem, No overdrive!!!! Anyone have any ideas? Noah????? :confused:

You could always find someone that knows something about cars to tell you why, or just keep throwing parts at it.

Your front band is prolly broken/wore out or the servo is hard. make sure your Throttle valve cable is connected and adjusted properly to. that could cause it not to go into o/d.

Also check your fuse on there I believe lock up and o/d controlled on the same fuse.

I can check the fuse with no problems, But I am really Schetchy about the throttle valve cable....

Yea throttle cable would cause that. Especially if you put a 2nd transmission into your truck and did the same thing I would guess on that throttle cable.

Dan give me a call tomorrow i have a 93 hatch with a low mile engine and auto that runs and drives(with overdrive working)..Motor trans is coming out real soon!!
