Ok, so I have been having serious issues with my 05 Evo. I have a GT37R turbo with all supporting mods. I have done a boost leak test and did find a couple minor leaks in the ic piping. I also had a crack in the intake manifold. I thought the problem was fixed so i raced last night and what do you know SAME PROBLEM! The best I can do is 27psi and I wont see that until 4th gear. 1st gear will only reach 10psi. In fact, in 3rd and 4th it will hit 20psi @ 6700rpm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of boost have you actually seen? is your wastegate and BOV working correctly? if you got some time stop in at the shop in the later afternoon and we might have a chance to look at it. or call first.

Thanks Brian, I will give you a call. It used to hit 35psi and it would peak well before 6k. I blocked off the wastegate and still maxed out @28psi. I also swapped out the mbc with no change.

Your BOV is very likely the cause of your problems. Suck some seafoam in through a vacuum line and check for pre-turbo exhaust leaks. They will be obvious if they are there. Make sure to change oil/plugs afterwords.

I removed the turbo and manifold and couldn't find any problems. I will give that seafoam a try. Its due for a oil change anyway. I was also thinking the bov but it seems ok when doing a pressure test. Thanks for the help Eric.

I also think it's your BOV. Time to upgrade to a real BOV like a TiAl or Synapse.

When putting seafoam through the vacume lines you dont need to do an oil change. Unless you put it in your oil aswell. Be careful with putting it through your vacume though. Put the dosage (1/3) in a seporate container because if you try to get it to do it and just take 1/3 out of all of it, it'll suck it all up. A friend of mine did it to his audi and it sucked it all out and took about 10 minuites for it to start again. It works great though, just be careful with it!!

Both the wastegate and bov are TiAl.

What size is your wastegate? It might be too small, especially if it's a 38mm.

Yeah its a 38mm but it worked fine in the past.
