Lights?
Yeah, When will we get lights and timeslips. My car will be ready to make its journey from L.A. to Coeurd'alene in a couple more days. I need to time it so I drive back on a Thursday and race on Friday-Saturday. I don't want to make the trip until we have the lights.

according to the schedule theres high school drags, which would mean that the lights stay up for FNSR. But then again who knows...
Lights are once a month I tried to get theme for tomorrow However the management fells its too close to the summers main event so we will be running times on the 18th of august! But coming out for FNSR when we are not running times only helps when we want to do special things but I need car count to get special pull! (hint hint)

And if there isn't a slips night, we can't help the car count get up. Therein lies the rub...
??? How many more goddamn cars do you want out there? Enough so everyone gets only one run??? Theres already WAY too many people that show up with the setup/resources you guys have IMHO.

Then I will continue to hang out with my familey on friday nights.??Percentage wise, what age group comes out on friday night's compared to saturday???You need to attract mid-20, early 30's out on Friday to get the car count up. The only way you're going to do that is giving us the reasion to come out.??We work way to hard to afford what we have to break it for nothing more then somone yawning at us while droping their hands for us to go.??Fuck that.??

Wasn't fnsr developed for younger people any how. Just to have fun and to minimize street racing?
highschool drags are tomorow right?
Yes

The only way you're going to do that is giving us the reasion to come out.
Why are time slips a reason? Don't you know what your car runs now? Are you looking to use it for a test n tune (if so, complain about having a test n tune night. Test n Tuning at FNSR is far and away from being what a real Test n Tune day would be). Or are you looking to show the guy you just raced that you won even though you know he saw your tail lights? I don't get this obsession with time slips for a heads up race. You either won, or you lost.
We work way to hard to afford what we have to break it for nothing more then somone yawning at us while droping their hands for us to go.
Speak for yourself... when I pulled down and made passes, I don't think anyone was yawning. In fact, with all the camera flashes going off, it was kinda distracting.
Go for the fun of it. The track isn't prepped, so there usually is no issue with driveline problems (though, you do drive a dsm). And for motor issues, people who tune their motor to the ragged edge (which may be 10-15hp more than a safe level, which gains you less than a tenth on your ET) probably should rethink their tuning methods.
Just something to ponder. I do think bringing back LMS with some prizes would be a good idea.

Driveline problems, track not prepped, driving DSM... ouch!
LMS would be cool. Why did they stop running LMS anyway? My dream as a little boy was to win one of them cheap shirts or whatever they give away.
Winner winner winner! The times night was a little treat! If you only want to run on light night that's fine! How ever if you fell like this "We work way to hard to afford what we have to break it for nothing more then someone yawning at us while dropping their hands for us to go. F**k that" Over a flag drop night what is all your "hard work" goona go for when there is no more FNSR? Go back to the old way get you a few recklessness! Spend some time in jail! Guys I'm not sure if you are aware of this but they have put way harsher penalties on this stuff since FNSR opened 5 years ago! I'm not saying the we are going to shut FNSR down but we have to have the car count to do extra stuff like lights and stuff! I'm currently working on bringing back LMS! Granted FNSR is not perfect and we have some rough edges we have to work out in cretin areas but what's the alternative? Jail time ? I don't know about you but I would far rather stand in line waiting to race than lose my car get a fatty ticket and sit in jail for a couple of days! So do what you would like come out on the light night but just remember what it was like before FNSR.

Haha... I speak from experience, unfortunately.

I always wanted to win a set of the tires from Les Schwabb.

This is what I was implying when you first brought up the times issues. If people know you will have timeslips on occasion they will wait for those times to come out. They wont come out for regular FNSR and they wont come out to Sat. drags to get slips...WHY?? Because you give them cheap slips every month.
I stand by my opinion that FNSR timeslips were and are a bad idea. People should go for the fun of it, but with possibilities of cheap timeslips hanging in front of their faces, they wont.

After further thinking, I have to agree - I have no interest in "Street Racing" (people still do this?), I would like to know how fast my car is, and whether my tuning/parts are making a difference. It's not about bragging rights or showing off for me (and you'd know that if you saw me run :P), its about trying to refine my setup and my skills...who cares if I break something and 10 people are watching or 1000 people are watching - its still broke. Testing and tuning is what appeals to me, and theres no way to get consistent information without timers. Hell I'd rather run the road course, but thats a different story
I think the appeal for FNSR and timeslips was being able to run and get a time when its not hot as a mofo out.
After discussing it with the track people, saturdays will definitely be the occasion to go to get times - at least 3 runs anyways. But only when the weather cools down.
This still leaves no reason (for me) to go out on Friday nights though, so it doesn't help up the car count at all.

Becasue I never get the chance to get out and get them.??I've only had at the most 5 E/T runs.??I just can't make it out on Saturdays when they are running. I have no problem with paying $15-$20-$40 for a good day of racing, tuning, learning. Fridays are about all I have to hope for at the time. It's not that I will never go out to the FNSR. I Just won't push it the same way looking for an extra .1 here and their.
And, no I don't know what this car will do.??I've never tuned it.??

I forgot that you are the one that works Saturdays. Sounds like you need a new job! :)
I really do think there should be a test-n-tune at least once a month just for this purpose.
Doing the FNSR for slips isn't the place to test-n-tune though. Too damn hard to work with a flashlight. It is much easier to "tune" when it is light out. For me anyways.
And no, my car isn't nice. It is ugly... and fast. :)

The force is strong with this one.
I dont ever discriminate on imports anymore. I used to hate them just because everyone thought they were pulling these rediculous hp #'s with em. But I give respect especially to strong imports. I personally would say go w/a cheap rwd domestic and your gonna have some real fun. And good results for the money. And not to mention you'll have a lot more displacement. Have fun whatever you do.
