Anyone have a good source for drag radials. $230 a tire from TireRack? Seems like a lot.
I need 275/40-17s. What's a CostCo membership cost? A gal at SRP told me they sell DRs at Costco but she couldn't remember the brand.
I was getting the oil changed and the tech said "the rear tires appear to be worn".
I rolled my eyes and said, in my best innocent voice "I wonder why, in the world, that could be." I haven't washed the car since the track on Friday night so there are still little melted shreds of tire, tenaciously clinging to the paint, behind the rears.
"Racing? I am sure I don't know what you are referring to officer. 'sides, I wasn't tailgating, I was drafting."

I dunno much about DR's, or Costco's for that matter, but if you want some really sticky summer only street tires, look for some Toyo Proxes T1-R's, Bridgestone Potenza RE01R's, or BFG KDW2's.
I'm running the Proxes T1-R's in 245/45-18, and they are really nice.
i would look into the BFG drag radails...they are probably the best bang for buck IMO and sticky as hell.. tread rating 000....go to C&L in the valley...they are a tire wherhouse that a lot of tire shops around here get their tires from...they are usually cheaper than any shop around here too...

I have changed my mind. M/T bias ply slicks (wrinkle sidewall) are about $150each and are supposed to be the stickiest thing out there. I am spinning through first and halfway through second, launching at 2000RPM. With the Mickey Thompson's I should be able to launch at 6,000 without a chirp.
That'll get me 1.5-1.6 60' times which will eclipse my current 2.1 second.

if it were me and i wanted 1/4 mile times and didnt mind swaping out the back wheels for heavy street driving -absoluty a slick would be the way to go. but bias on back & radials on front= tailwaggn @ high speeds. and cosco sells bfg's

8.8" with lower control arms and uppers to be installed before the next season. Once the diff goes, it'll be replaced with an Eaton unit. Guy on AllFordMustangs.com did 800 1/4 mile passes, on spray with no probs so I figure that oughta work :)
