Ok so the 8 valve version is the stock version. and the 16 valve is the jdm version correct? (assuming it has no number after the B) I'm just curious because i checked the code on the hatch and it said D15B but its 16 valve. Thanks.

so you guys put a sohc vtec in it? mike said that you just put in a 16 valve version of the motor that was in it.. or just a vtec block and non head?

All i can say is i did a d15b VTEC in my 92 dx hatch and all-motor it did a 14.6 with some shitty 185/60/14 cutting 2.4 60's. Now im no longer a single cam guy, but if i had went on i know i could have made that car do 13's all-motor 1.5L single cam. Then throw boost on that thing and it would have gotten nutty. Sorry, im sure this really has no relevance to the original topic.

It looks like mike put on a 16 valve d15__ head on the d15b jdm block.. because i seriously doubt its vtec because all photos online show the d15b to have the sparkplugs up front when vtec including the site where he got the motor from.
