If that is a duramax which I am assuming it is a cummins isn't better he is using the correct vehicle lol
I can see why they didnt use a Tundra to pull that trailer.. But I think using a Dodge Cummins would be a better idea..

There's a reason why you never see Chevy's pulling fifth-wheels. I believe, with the DuraMax diesel, in the 2500, it's only rated to tow 6900 pounds.
F250 with the automatic tranny... 16,000. Shawn Monte towed a 16 ton trailer all summer with his before he blew out the rear diff. 16,000 is not the same as 16 tons bud. LOL!
Looked like someone had fired a gun out the back of the case.

Go ask Cobalt Trucks what they upfit the most. The answer is Ford.
The Dodges aren't rated high enough to carry anything more than a service box (ie, tools, equipment... anything will throw it over weight).
The Chevs can have a service box and some small tools but any heavy equipment or materials will push it overweight.
I drive a 4-door Powerstroke and love it. I get ~18-19MPG and I'm rated at 20,000 combined truck/trailer weight.

I loved driving my Chevy work truck. It was like a station wagon. It could carry 900 pounds in the bed but we had to be very careful on things like the Freya hill. All those cross streets could break the frame, over the axle.
Bad ju-ju.
I can tell you, a truck drives like shit with a broken frame. Easy to fix with a some plate stock and a little welding, but damn. It's all over the place until you can get back to the shop to fire it up.

...thats it?!?? I'm assuming half ton...
seeing as I work for Toyota i'm very proud of the new Tundra. It's a great truck . Yeah so it's a few hundred pounds less towing capacity than a Ford, but it drives soooo much better and definately a hundred times more power.
And if somebody starts arguing Ford superduty against the new tundra i'll kick ya in the nuts cause i'm tired of hearing everybody saying the new superduty is better....no shit its a whole different class of truck retard!
anyhooo :D Yeah i can see the embarassment in that picture but Toyota itself doesn't have a truck to haul that much...
But TMC does own and make Hino...

i drive a brand new 2500 silverado everyday at work and it's rated to haul 9200 pounds which sounds nuts for a 3/4 ton <2500> so ims ure the diesel can haul more than 6900.

it all seems like b/s to me i mean, its funny when you see these guys hauling around little stuff and there trucks are just squatted to the nuts but they are supposed to be able to haul the world, 9200 pounds you take the average 3500lbs car x2 theres no fing way one would be able to do it, sure the back bumper would be on the ground and the trans wolds be at 230degrees but they say you can do it!, i guess thats why i like my old chevys

the better question is, "does it really matter?"
this debate has been going on since Mercedes invented the car and ford tried to take credit for it.
they all have their high and low points, but it wasn't till a few years ago that GM got their shit together and built a decent diesel pickup.
I have driven enough different brand trucks to say one thing for certain, if I wanted a tough truck that I KNEW would be tough enough, it would be a Dodge, Ford, or a Titan, NOT a cheby.
chevies are made for a foreman who needs to look good for a customer and have a decently dependable, pretty rig. not something to pull stumps out with. the GMC is a different matter, it is a better pickup than the chevy., not even built at the same plant.

we had a 10,000 lbs trailer hooked up to a new Tundra for a long time for customers to test drive....never heated more than normal and rear never sagged lower than level height just as it should. Of course...keep in mind if your load isn't properly loaded or spread you could sag the rear.....i'm not quite sure what the tongue weight is rated for.
As far as the half tons compared....Dodge is at the bottom of the list...but as far as one tons go I have to be cummin :D
