Hey I see my original thread is still alive and well and lots of questions were answered...
Here's another. -- fyi - 95 sedan D16Z6 turbo project dsm t25
I don't really want to buy an $800 hondata or $1800 aem if I don't plan on tuning.
If I just want to install the turbo (next spring) -- instead of doing full fuel management can I just roll with a missing link/fmu and get a good basemap with a chipped p28 and be ok? I found a good site where I can get a chipped p28 with a basemap for 150. j-k-tuning.com Mostly I just want my car to have the extra hp but don't plan on trying to tune myself because I can't even find someone to explain how to adjust my skunk2 adjustable cam gear... how am I gonna learn to tune without guessing or destroying my engine.

Tuning is not that difficult. If you want to learn, there are people that will teach you.
For a low boost street car (5-9 psi) you will probably be fine with an FMU or a chipped ECU. Problem with turbo cars is that, at some point, you will get board with the power and want more.

This guy/company says that they can put a basemap on and the chip that he installs is reburnable. chip is SST 27SF512 So if I do this setup I still have the ability to tune later on right?? But this would get me started and give me room to grow without having to spend a small fortune on ems until I'm ready to also correct??
Also what do you guys with turbo's do in the snow?? I have a tough enough time taking off from a start in the rain with small mods.

You will always have the option to burn a new chip, problem is...this guy doesnt know how your engine is going to react to the changes. Every engine runs a little different, some like to be rich, some like to be a little lean. That is why it is best to use something that can be tuned on the dyno to your specific car.
Most of the 2wd guys I know dont drive turbo cars in the snow.

yeah dude save yer money dont buy hondata and all that stand alone bull shit all u really need is crome trust me.... i have CROME and its been trouble free for me.... if u need someone to tune for u let me kno i can tune yer car i have tuned my car for 10 - 25 psi on pump gas and its still running strong also dyno tuning is not a must i think dyno tuning is only good for making peak power numbers street tuning is better for drive ability dude to various road conditions a.k.a differant loads on the engine a.k.a differant aereas of the fuel map to grab from that wont get touched when dyno tuning...... but i think is shit to drive anything in the snow but a turbo car is do able its not like u will have full boost daily driving from a dead stop just try to take off easy not full speed.....

So how do I go about getting a chipped computer? Do I just need another one that can be chipped or should I buy one from a particular dealer. Like I said there is a guy that looks pretty reputable selling computers with all kinds of different chipping options. I am really new at working on Hondas so sorry for all the questions. j-k-tuning.com is the site I have been looking at.
