Brian,

Is that the 496 you were building? Which heads did you opt for?

hey there Phil, Yes this is the 496, actually a 489, only went .030 over, the heads are actually a GM cast iron head that where ported out heavily and had a TON of bowl work done. They where done by a machine shop in Sandpoint that sponsored me all my machining. They flow around 300 to 320 CFM on the intake and cant remember the exhaust side, and they are 123 combustion chamber, the comp is right at 10.5:1, and the bottom end is all billet spayed mains with a gun drilled crank and H-beam rods and full mechanical roller valve train. On pump gas and no bottle it made 690 hp and 600 ftlb at the crank. I put the motor in my father in laws old 64 Nova bracket car that is around 3100 pounds with the cast headed big block and ran a 150 shot on it and it ran a 9.40 @ 147 mph hassing the tires the hole 60 ft.

The tune on the truck is similar except i have a 2 stage NX Gemini plate on it with the first system set at 175hp and the second is set at 200hp. and the truck with me in it should be at the 3900 to 4000lb mark. Hoping to run in the lower 9's but a for sure 9.50's.
