Well I am searching for some quotes now. The car vibrates after 60 and bounces a bit accessivly on the driver rear, and hasnt had its timing belt changed on time, so i'm figureing probably shocks and some other suspension stuff to fix the bouncyness and vibration, and a timing belt. I saw theres like a petes independant honda repair that looks prety good. I'm going to also ask the guy we usually take our cars to: jamie at superier auto, and i'm just going to call around after that. I was told to figure atleast 300 for the timing belt when we bought our 96 civic so i'm expecting around that. idk about the shocks/struts. I've still got to check and see if the guy put coil overs on it, he said it was lowered at one time so maybe he just raised the coilovers idk. Do you think if a car is lowered on stock struts and then raised back up the shocks would be messed up because of the different work-able ranges? Thanks.

I personly would stay away from Petes Honda Repair. They will rip you off there and waay overcharge. If you have a vibration that occurs around 60mph, you likey have a wheel out of balance, but a common problem with hondas is the driver side axle will wear out and where the intermediate shaft attaches to the axle, causing a vibration. Save yourself some money and do the timing belt yourself. Hondas are about as easy as you can get when it comes to timing belts. Its gonna cost you about $60, a little more if you do the water pump and your gonna learn how to work on your car. If the car is bouncy, generaly the struts are bad. If its got coil overs its almost gauranteed that the struts are blown. If your serious about this car its time to look a decent suspension setup, youll be much happier in the long run for buying quality parts when it comes to suspension. Id say signup on Honda-Tech and start learning about your car. Hopefuly you didnt get one of the Ludes that has the F22 SOHC, as the H22A or even the H23A motors are the cars to have. I could go on and on about the car you have, but im not gonna sit here and spoon feed you. Good luck on the car, they definatly have ALOT of potential.

I gave up trying to help this kid. He will sell/trade this car in a couple weeks anyway.

Thanks for the good advice. I heard you have to take the whole side of the motor apart to get to it, I've done it on a dsm but never a honda. And I'm prety sure i've got the f22 sohc its got some power but i still would eventually like to put in an h22.

on a side note, if you dont have something productive to say, dont say it at all. thanks. I like changing cars big freaking deal. get over it.

Its not that you like changing cars...more power to you. Its that everytime you do change you come in here and ask everyone else for advice on what to do or where to go.

If you really need some help there are people who can do it. Just and FYI if I was to do a timing belt w/water pump it would cost you $150 plus parts.

4 new struts are going to be $125.00 plus parts.

And as Steve said the vibration is probably a tire out of balance...a tire shop could take care of that fairly cheap.

well its not exactly that i know a ton and i can come on here and tell people what to do or show people what i've done because i dont know how to do half the stuff. Thats why i ask. I like to know whats going on with my car so i'd reather ask somone on here than trust a mechanic that could just be out for the money. We paid 3000 for a USED motor to be put into our van 3 years ago.. even with labor thats insane. I just dont want to get screwed over, If you guys dont want me to ask advice i'll stop.. seriously i dont want everyone mad at me just because i'm asking for help.. Its how people learn, thats how everyone on here learnt, by trying new things and by asking.
