Hello, I'm just curious if anyone here knows where i could find a H22? I'm looking for a motor thats got to have some work done. I've got a black 92 prelude with the stock f22 and some space in the garage to build up a new motor. I'm looking the cheaper the better, just has to be rebuildable, no cracked blocks or heads etc.

do you think that they'd have one that needs work or just be able to get ahold of one thats good?

I think there is other options besides Kaizen. If your good with a computer do a ton of searching on craigslist and other sites like this. I'm pretty sure you'll find something along the lines of what you are looking for...

I think for the most part it would be a ready to go motor, but they might have one that needs a bit of work. Your best bet would be to give them a call and see what they have or what they can get for you.

well i found a guy selling a head for 300. Well thats a bit pricy for me right now but I guess I get an idea of prices I'm looking for. But I might have found a cheap block. He blew a rod and isnt sure the block is rebuildable, if it is it might be worth it just to get the block and prepare for finding a head, get it all cleaned up and working properly. For the right price of a whole motor i'd buy it but i couldnt afford 1500-4000 for a h22. thats why i'm thinking of finding one in need of a rebuild then i'd have a little project while i still drive the car and wait for the timing belt on the f22 to snap. Its not worth spending the time and money on a motor that's #1 i dont want, #2 only has 135hp and #3 i dont want. Maybe once i have an h22 in it i'll build the f22 and build a turbo setup for if the h22 ever blows. (i like having backups.)

You dont want an engine that threw a rod. There will be damage to the cylinder wall.

As far as costs go...even if ou try and piece together an H22 swap your going to end up around 1000 dollars just in parts.

well I really dont know much about motors thats why i'm wanting to get a motor to tinker with.. thats why i'm not really wanting to pay 1000 bucks to piece together an h22.. so I'm not sure what i want to do.. Having a turbo car could be fun.. and I've heard f22's turbo prety well.. As long as its an f22 from a prelude (i read they have 10 more hp than accord f22's) It might be worth turboing it.. I liked the idea of having vtec though. I have never honestly owned a vtec honda. And the block the guy has does have damaged walls, but wouldnt it work if i got new sleves?
