Kinda funny but scared the shit out of me. I got a new set of NGK BP7ES plugs to install after reassembling everything from the valve seal swap out. I set the tq wrench and as soon as I hit some resistance and it started getting tight, all resistance went away :( I pictured the spark plug well stripping out and almost cried after all that work lol. The threaded sleave with the ground strap just snapped off the plug, it was weird. Probably just a 1 in a mil defect from NGK. It came right out with an easy out, no prob.

There are two types of common spark plugs; those that are tapered and those with crush washers. You can't (or at least aren't supposed to) just snug up spark plugs with a flat seat and a crush washer. Just a little FYI :)

hmmm... well ive been snugging up my spark plugs since i was 16, and no 'snaping in half' or ill effects yet, but then again i don't always cross my T's or dot my i's. Only when i need to.

I haven't touched a Honda in while but I'm 99% sure you've got a flat seat and a crush washer, not the tapered seat. Think about it: CRUSH washer. If it's tapered, snug away. You only need like 7ft/lbs but the flat type say clearly 15-21ft/lbs on the box or something in that range.
