But a successful weekend for racing with the new ride. As some of you might know, Chris @ FastLane Motorsports and I built the rear end of this truck last winter, and I have been plugging along with it most of this year and finally after 3 weeks of busting my balls to get it going, this years 'nitro show' was her first weekend in racing. Another 10 second street car.
First pass was 11.16 @ 122 so I knew it was goona fly.
By the third run on opening day I had made a 10.97 ET and 125 MPH and there it was the entire weekend. The best pass, and occurring twice, was 10.83 @ 124. Most of the passes were 10.91 to 10.98. I cant complain about that. The 60 foot ET was really slow, best of 1.58 but averaged 1.62. This is all with out turning a single wrench on the rear end set up and 4500+ corrected elevation. It drove straight and true with not so much as a sway or wobble. Chris fab'd the rear end perfect. With some simple tuning of the coil overs and needing to get rid of the sway bar up front the 60 foot should drop close to a 10th. So, on a good day this truck should be in the 10.70 or better range (then I will have to add the spray  .) Just thought I would share the story of the newest truck to the track. I just might have to haul my lawn mower with me when I street drive it just for grins and giggles.
