Oh wow! After a picnic I went to, a bunch of us "Mustangers" decided to check out the lowcos show. First, I see the car show surrounded by fence. Then, we see security guards, sherriff and there were undercovers there as well. THEN, we get to the gate and we find out they are charging. I'm thinking a couple of bucks...no biggie. NOOOOOOOO it was 10 friggin dollars! I told the guy the cars weren't worth that much and walked away. Looked too ghetto for me anyways what with all the cops there!

My complaint: charging for a car show. I have NEVER experienced that. Not only that but I guess it was $35 to enter your car! Sounds like that car club needs to learn how to earn money for their club if that's what they were doing rather than ripping the public off!

Really is ridiculous. I entered my Galant and won 1st, but for $35 entry, should have been like 4 ft. tall. Terribly organized, way ghetto and the cops of course are a buzz-kill. I told myself I wasn't going to enter this year after last years, but didn't have much going on so I did anyways. it will be my last year also going/entering.

by the way, that guy did not hit a 158. I think it was a 151, but not even sure on that either. anyone that knows audio can tell you a 158 is for professional-all db drag automobiles with plexi-glass windows. I wouldn't trust Snows db meter as far as I could throw it either.

It did hit 158 in the white bronco I have the video tape sitting at my house he also hit 157.2 at the excelorator contest at silverwood! He's got the money in the system I've sat in that thing and felt like I had to poo afterwards it pounds! 6 JL 12's will do that I guess !

Weird, I went up to the Snows booth and asked what the highest was and they said 151. I was at the Excelerator show too, but spent most my time in the water than at the show. Didn't see any of the drags there. I would have liked to seen and heard. Would have been the highest I've personally been around. He should have come to the Aspen drags, would have crushed everyone. Impressive.

And yes, the yellow jackets were ridiculous. The light pole next to my car had them circling all the way up. The Exclerator show was like that 2 years ago when they expanded the grass section. I got stung on the finger and was beating them off the rest of the day too.

I can understand charging at the door if you have the cars and the activities to warrent it. Didnt go this year so I cant really comment on weather this was worth $10. I know in the past plenty of the people I know have gone to HIN and paid when they wernt showing a car. Think its $25 @ the door.

THE BACK STORY ON THIS WHOLE SHOW AND HOW MUCH IT SUCKED IS THAT WE USUALLY HOLD IT AT SRP BUT THE NEW OWNER SHAFTED US 2 MONTHS BEFORE OUR SHOW SO THIS WAS A LAST DITCH EFFORT. THIS YEAR WE ARE HAVING 2 SHOWS

The first will be the 2nd Annual Lowcos Supershow in Moses Lake, WA. The show will be held at the Grant County Fairgrounds on June 22nd, 2008. There will be INDOOR space for car showing, be at the gates at 8:00am for these spots, as it is a first come, first served basis. To reserve a spot, please call Grumpy at 509-270-6777.

Of course, we will also be hosting the 12th Annual Lowcos Supershow in Spokane, WA. The show will be held at the Market Street Market, on Market Street. This year we have moved the date early to avoid the rain, and will be on July 20th, 2008. It will be almost intirely INDOORS!! Be at the gates at 8:00am for registration and for an indoor spot as well. For any questions call Grumpy at 509-270-6777.

A little puncutation goes a long way. It sounds like you charge money so no one will sneak in. I know what you mean. Still you may have noticed that no one else charges for car shows. Do you feel you were taken advantage of and charged money, not charged to other hot rod groups, in order to have your show?

I've been to 3 and I would not slam all the meth whores...there were worthy entries every year I've been. And some that should never be seen publicly. Take the good with the bad I suppose. As far as the Lowcos, entry is way too steap and not the way to attract people. Just my 2 cents.

2low2rl, maybe next year call HotRod Cafe or DQ. Those guys are always down for a car show, in their parking lots. I don't think you even need to pay or get barricades, so cost is minimal. It gets the word out so I would think membership would go up. Put it on any reasonably main road, like the Dairy Queen at the corner of.... Argonne and Trent [?]. Most people put too much stock in advertising to get people to events. Times have changed and word-of-mouth is faster now. All the first kid has to do is drive by and he picks up his cell phone. 20 minutes later, a couple of hundred phone calls have been made by those guys and the guys they called and the guys those guys called, etc. Just about anybody, into cars, will be calling his friends and they are all thinking the same thing.

Hot Rod is the best, just because they are on the freeway so more people see the event getting started and it tends to snowball from there.

The local Mustang Club had a show-off with the local Corvette club a while back, to see who could get the most cars to the HotRod, by midnight. Total was something like 140 cars?

It started with about 20.

Know anybody with a bar/grill with a decent sized parking lot? All you really need is food and drink but a lot of clubs stay away from bars because all you need is a couple of drunken drag racers pissing off a couple of drunken low riders. The words chollo and ricer and redneck get thrown around and you end up with a bunch of guys with matching bracelets, sitting on the curb, answering questions, for the guys in blue.

I'm sure you already know all that but as you can tell, the people on this forum liked the cars. Not the cost. And maybe not the aging strippers. Fresh, new strippers... that's the key :) You can't go wrong with fresh strippers. Ask anybody. Now add free?

I would make a new thread and put down your event details there so its not being stuck in the middle of old drama. I wasnt at the reg desk all day during my show so Im not sure if people were being dicks and cutting in line. I will say that we didnt have a lowrider catigory but I had a group call and ask if they could still come. (not sure if they were Locos) The ones I spoke with came with several cars and SUV's. While speaking to the car people and judging the SUV's I would like to mention that they were extremely polite to myself and my staff.

If others are having issues with people at the show, lowrider or otherwise just get me or one of my staff members and we will take care of it. There is zero bullshit tolerance at all my events, you cant get along with other car lovers then you will be removed.

Right now Im setting up the date for Excelerator and it does not look like it will conflict with Locos events currently....

Excellerator has always been a great show.. I took my hooptie to 3 of the events just to ride the coasters and check out the cars.. My car not being anything special by any means was ok with everybody there.. Nicely organized, nice facilty, didnt have to worry about anybody messing with the cars, it was on grass (not dirt) which is important to many people that have nice chromed out cars and such...
I have some video from past Lowcos shows and it seemed like there was alot of "Unspoke" comfrontation even on the videos, you can see people who "are badass's" in there own respect pushing other people out of the way that are just watching..
I do like the StreetStars video (the last one i got from G-Spot), nicely edited with alot of great content, thats the beauty of video editing :D

Just cause they charge doesnt mean that the cars are crap. it takes alot of time and effort in them just like some of the eagles, mtshubishi, honda, volkswagens, etc. its just there rides. i have bought rims from lowcos. very well priced and reasonable. so go ahead and talk crap but they are just like us but with diffrent views on cars.

I think part of it is that there are just as nice or nicer cars in other shows that dont charge. So it makes it seem like they think that their so much better than everyone else so they can charge.

I've never been to their show yet, I'm always gone it seems. But I have a friend that has gone and won best truck a few years ago and he won a couple hundred dollars. Not sure if they still do that but I'm sure some of that comes out of the entrance fees.

I think part of it is that there are just as nice or nicer cars in other shows that dont charge. So it makes it seem like they think that their so much better than everyone else so they can charge.

I've never been to their show yet, I'm always gone it seems. But I have a friend that has gone and won best truck a few years ago and he won a couple hundred dollars. Not sure if they still do that but I'm sure some of that comes out of the entrance fees.

Shows have overheads. If you cant raise it with sponsor money then charging is the next best thing. As long as people see the value I dont think you will have an issue.

All i have to say is the market street market is a VERY shabby place to hold a car show.. everything is so run down its rediculous. I havent seen inside but from the pictures from the cliffs auctions inside looks prety grungy aswell. I understand you will probably try to make it look a bit better but i drive past it almost every day and it almost looks like a good few weeks of work couldnt even make it look good.
