I keep checking the Chevrolet website. The Camaro does not seem to be making any progress. There is no plant sceduled to manufacture it. Chevy says "Concept" and that's it. No new updates, since the end of 2006.
Edmunds has an unsubstantiated rumor that it may go into prduction as early as 2011.
Heck, it'll be an LS3 by then. I keep hoping....

They have had test mules out running around in Michagan that people always spot. I'm not too crazy about the looks of it and no one can confirm what the powerplant will be. People still can't figure out what engine is going to be in it. There are always rumors of a LS7 SS in it but from what I have read the LS7 costs to much to be put into a mass produced car unless the SS went on limited production. They are suppose to be doing away with the LS7 because of the costs and introducing more LS series engines. They still have a couple more LS numbers out there they can use before they have to come up with another call out, but they could just move to letters. The new CTS-V is suppose to have a detuned LS9 in it labeled LSA.

I think they should go like the Evo, Superbowl and movie productions and show what a modern company they are by using Roman Numerals.
It could be the MCMVVCXXXI Camaro with the LSVII engine.
One of the things that held Rome back, 2000 years ago was that you could not add roman numerals or do any calculations with them at all. Hellooooo abacus.
Official Chevrolet Site | 2008 Cars, SUV's, and Trucks | Chevy (http://www.Chevrolet.com) says a 400hp V8. But what if, like the Challenger, the V6 costs way more than the Mustang GT? Looks cool, I'll give it that. The Challenger V6 (if offered) will not cost $20,000 less than the V8 :(
Phil and I were talking about this. There needs to be a super cheap, strippy-strippy model of V8, in each car. Like a Mustang GT, with vinyl seats, plastic dash, no power brakes, power steering, A/C, power windows, cruise, radio, limited slip, aluminum wheels and tires, floor mats, carpetting, headliner, like that. $20K.
It'd be lighter and faster, but with zero frills. Like a "custom" F-150. You "get to" customize it yourself.

I think I'd pass on the towing package.
Also Chevy's page says it will be rolling on 20's in front, 22's in back. Nothing like uglying it up with rubberband tires.
The concept is a very cool looking car. I hope they make it someday. Anybody know if it's supposed to be all new or on another platform? Caprice? LOL!
God, I hope not. The GTO wouldn't be bad, like they did for the Transformers movie.
