Well i picked up this cb500 cheap, i got it home and was thinking about starting it, even though i knew the carbs needed to be syncronized. Well.. first off i broke the little latch for the gas tank and cant get the gas cap open (it's been sitting 2 years and everything is very brittle right now) Well i tried the throttle.. and it wouldnt open the carbs up.. well.. after about 5 hours i pulled off, and cleaned the carbs and to no avail the carbs wont open up at all. I tried penetrating lube everything.. there stuck like no other. Also.. has anyone ever seen a spark plug with the white stem breaking apart? kind of wierd.

Plans for it as of now are clean it up and get it running to ride and save gas. and if the track opens maybe see what it can do.

On a side note, does anyone know somone who can syncronize some carbs for me at a reasonable rate?

there's bike shop on francis and I forgot what's side street its on but its not far from AtoZ rental, I think it might be across from that Chevron station on E Francis, worth checking out they do all kinds of bike work.

As you head East on Sprague, just after it crosses under the highway, by Home Depot, there's a place (called Ed's I think). They were really honest and had excellent service, back in the day. Did some work for me for nothing.

I drove by there today, it is on pittsburg, forgot the name, it is a used parts and repair shop. YES it is just a few feet north of the Chevron. ;)

i went to allens. picked up 4 working carbs. urg.. 200 bucks hurt the pocket book a bit. little bit closer to getting it running. i need new plugs and maybe other stuff we'll have to see. um.. i got new tires bran new for 60 bucks, but it sucks because the tires are molded on and we tried to cut it off and tried puttn holes in it and puttin the 2 sides of the tire (cut tire in half) between two trucks and pulled. it broke our rope.. then just pulled through the tire.. mold is fuckin strong.

Wow, thats some of the most red-neck sh*t I've heard in a while. You sure you want to sell the Camaro? I'd love to see the faces on the people if you have to bring that wheel to a shop.

yeah no joke, its VERY redneck. a truck pull with a fucking tire in the middle. it almost looks like he used rubber cement to hold it on.. the rubber discinigrated into the rim you cant even get anything between it.

You have got to be one of the luckiest guys I know.... What you have there is a ultra rare, highly sought after JDM Mad Max machine!!! Check out the chain, is that gold? The seat, is that the back half of the original Easy Rider Captain America seat? The paint is so flawless, can see myself typing on my computer.. Dude! I am so digging on the High quality Restoration you are doing there. I was wondering if you do other custom work? I would love to have my Ducati "Overhauled"... Where is that Chip Foose hiding?

Here is the next car you should buy. I am sure you could just change the oil in it and put some air in the tires and it should and make millions at Barrett Jackson… It has only been sitting for 6 months…..

its a project numbnuts. the paint isnt finished obviously the tank rust eater i threw in there splashed onto the paint so i've got to redo it. and the seat is soon to be reappolstered. tires are new, tank liner is new, petcock is new, plugs, wires, all of the standard stuff, new carbs, and is currently being re-wired fender to fender.
