View Full Version : New Best....AC Cobra

Showed up a little late last night and was able to make a few passes in the Cobra. First pass I let off just before the 1/8 and ran a 10.9@94 against a low 12 second El-Camino.

Second pass I was lined up against that 9 second DSM (thanks Jeffro!). Is that the same car that has the video of it racing in Boise on this site? The car left pretty good but definitly could have been better (1.62 60ft) and I short-shifted 2nd a little and then short-shifted 3rd really bad (pulled the RPM's down way to far) and managed a 9.44@151, the 1/8 time was a 6.2@125.

Third pass was against a big block nitrous'd Camaro, I got lined up on the spectator side which had oil & anti-freeze dumped all over earlier and had the powder dry stuff on it. About 100ft out the car started to spin pretty good and I kept playing with the throttle trying to get the car to hook (drag radials with no sidewall, 275/40/17). The ass was just kind of fish-tailing but was controllable, then about half track it got really slippery and the car really started getting sideway's so I let off and as the car settled it wanted to go left. So rather than trying to correct right really hard and risk hitting any oil and possibly really getting out of shape, I just let the car go left and brought the car straight once I was out of the oil. I was looking at the back of the Camaro and knew there was plenty of room for me in his lane. That car ran a 9.18 or something along those line's, I asked if he turned the bottle on before the run and he said "no", which I knew was a lie. That car sure does shit & get.
All in all I had a freaking blast out there and I guess the guy announcing was pretty funny. Having the lights up is a blast and brings out a lot more of the serious racers. I also like running on the sportsman tree, gives a little more time to get the car loaded and practice for when ya go to an NHRA track. It is a good time to come out, test&tune and look at all the T&A running around. I met a couple guy's off of here, it was good meeting you guy's, I'm sure that I will see you guy's out there again.

Peace,
Brian

No thats not Jake 's Talon. This is another guy from Boise. His name is Trevor. He claims it will run nines but it sure doesn't look like its even close.

Nice run Brian! Also great save in the kitty litter.

Nope not my car, I have only been up there once in my life, and seems to me I need to make alittle road trip to show people up there was a "real" 9sec DSM looks like LOL.

Let me explain somthing to everyone, Trevor's Talon is FAR away from a 9 sec car, maybe a mid 11 sec car, but not even close to what he claims it is. I know everything that is done to that car (stock head with cams and bone stock bottom end (7.8~1 pistons) that was just recently rebuilt). And for the record he has not done one damn thing to that car himself as he is telling everyone up there. I know cause I assembled the damn motor myself.
He ripped a TON of people off down here to build that car (including me) The guy is a tool and I can't wait to bring the talon up there and show him how it is really done and get my money from the fat bastard.
There are about 30 people down here that are looking for him, he owes money to people, car parts, laptops, ect ect. The guy is a theif and one of the biggest liars that I have ever met in my life so beware to whoever deals with this guy, I try and help in every witch way in the DSM community, this guy trevor does not belong to the DSM community and needs to burn in hell for all the bridges he burned down here with everyone.
If anyone has any info on this guy as where he lives and what not, please let me know so we can contact spokane police department. The police down allready know about what is going on and are looking for him as well if he ever comes back down to visit. So far it's looking at grand theft for all the stuff he has stolen from people down here. That is why he skiped town (boise) and moved up there.
So like I said, if anyone can get any address info on this tool please let me know, we will take care of who ever does that for us.

But on a side note, it is still up in there air but I maybe coming up there to do some expedition passes for you guys before your guy's track closes this season. So if anyone needs any tuning done or minor work done please let me know as I can do some tuning while I am there.
Regards.

Damn, sounds like this guy is real shady.??I don't know the guy myself, I just got lined up with him and everyone wanted me to beat him. I talked to him for a couple minutes after the run and he had blown off one of his cold-side pipes. I heard later that night he had sucked something into the piping and it ended up hurting the turbo.
Sorry to hear you guy's got screwed over so badly. If ya come up here, make sure it's on a night when they are running the clocks. You will have a lot more competition on a timed night than a regular friday night.??Make sure to give us a heads up when your coming up, I would definitly like to take a look at your car. It is definitly an impressive little car.

Very nice runs there Wolfe, and A nice save, great driving on your part. By the way the Camaro you ran was driven by Bill Squire, that was the first time this summer he has hit the bottle since i tuned it this Spring. runs real consistent 10.0's on motor, and with this little 175 shot, it ran a 9.12 @ 148 letting out of it becuase he started getting a little squirley at the top top end with 1.38 60 ft

Ya Brian that car is out of control fast! And your crazy for driving it! I can't even imagine going that fast little lone is something that light and no roof. I gotta hand it to you for having some big balls!

I'll post on here next time we are going out to run the car RacemyJetta...

Thanks, T, Vwluv and Rothmund...the car is pretty damn nuts to drive and definitly pushes your driving skills. It is hard to explain what it is like to drive it when your right foot is to the floor. The drag radials and pure asphalt track make traction difficult to find sometimes, it definitly takes some throttle work to get the car down the track.

The guy in the camaro is Bill Squires. He only turned on the nitrous because someone told him ,that they overheard heard someone saying the Camaro was gonna get smoked by the Cobra.?? The Cobra is unbelievably quick considering the low profile street tires , and the guy driving it has big balls. Here's a link to a vid of the http://videos.streetfire.net/video/19f8e447-96be-415c-ad3b-9823017650d7.htm?? I lost sight of them at mid track for a second , but you can get the gist of it.

Haha, not at all.??So when do ya think they will be running the clocks again on friday night........3-4 weeks? We are looking to bring the AC Cobra back out and improve upon the times.??Plus we need to do some heavy braking from 150mph since we are going to try and get into a magazine about the 0-150-0 contest. Looking to beat the Lingenfelter Vette's, Hennessey Viper's and Buggatti Veyron's time's with our homebuilt setup that costs less than half of what they sell for.??Show the rest of the U.S. that there are some cool and fast rides up here in the Northwest!!!!

Hmmm, if anything possibly we could meet up so that I could see the vid....can you put it onto VHS by chance? So you have the 9.44@151 pass? Thats awesome you got a couple of the runs, hopefully we can get something worked out! Let me know, I work on the south hill and live in Cheney. I am usually in Spokane till late at night.

Check your PM. I'll see if I can get it put on vhs or even dvd when I get home in the morning. The quality is not the best but you can hear the announcer.
