Ok, I'll just throw that out there so we have a set date to shoot for. Most people seemed to be able to make a Saturday and that gives us 2 weeks to plan. Lets get a roll call for who's coming. Also we need a place to meet. Would be nice for someplace with a big parking lot so we can all stay together and BS about what we love the most, CARS ;)

Im in. May I suggest the park on Garland and Division? How bout Mission Park? both have a parking lot that would suffice.

03-31-2008, 07:48 PM
i know that the north side would be best for a lot of people on here, however there is a park, I cant remember the name of it, but its between evergreen and argonne on Upriver drive - they have a TON of parking available and its fucking HUGE - they have the annual soccer tournies out at that park. It doesnt cost anything, and there are areas with electrical outlets if needed. Thats my vote. Does that work for you JJ? lol

Is there anyplace good by Liberty Lake or out in the Valley? Would be a nice in-between place for those of us coming from Idaho.

I know of this place you speak of. It is huge. Im down no matter what. It will give me an excuse to drive the Supra. Whatever is most centrally located would work.

Plantsferry Park.... lol finally remembered the name of the park. If you head north on Argonne from the freeway, take a right on Upriver Drive, go about 2 miles (?? ive got a bad sense of distance) and the park is on the righthand side... you cant miss it lol its huge.

For others who know the area and can handle taking a different way, you can either go up sullivan, past the overpass at trent, taking a left at the stop sign and just go straight until you see the park on your left.

OR

Head north on pines, taking a right on trent, then a left on evergreen and then a left at the stop sign.

OR

for the northsiders, you can take trent/mission to argonne, proceed with previous directions.

OR

for even northern northsiders, you can take argonne south (from francis, peone, or whereever) and take a left on upriver drive.

Valley or Liberty Lake for me. Both are bueno and for JJ, I think the bus goes there [hee hee]. You Northside guys all have to drive a lot no matter what, living in BFE.

Noonish is perfect.

As long as it isn't 4/19 I should be able to make it. Really wouldn't matter where the location is for me, I enjoy driving. :)

I'm in and of course I'm suggesting the valley...

But honestly the roads are way better and much easier access right off the freeway than the north or downtown areas. I'll be there with whatever car runs that day.

My vote is for the Valley...plenty of space...not as shitty roads...etc. etc.

once again, i really do think Plants Ferry Park would be the best bet- loads of parking and the park is just huge - the local soccer tournies are held there every year

Does plants ferry have BBQ's?

94blueGSX
04-01-2008, 12:33 PM
Smoke20, not sure if you've ever had a slammed import to try and navigate around town, but it does make a difference to people that are not used to that stuff. The roads are far worse trying to go up north than the valley. I personally don't care but just pointing out that it does make a difference for some. I got a $20 porta-grill so I don't care where we go...

blue98neon
04-01-2008, 12:47 PM
im pretty sure they have bbq's??? I havent been there in a while so my memory doesnt serve me so well with it, but I can drive by there on my way home from work and check

I say everyone bring whatever they wanna eat. Ill bring a pack or two of hotdogs/burgers if someone else can contribute other things. Otherwise everyone pack your own, and bring your own steaks so I or "the nubile challenger" can grill it up for yall.

There are pot holes everywhere but I will admit the northside is worse but hey what the hell is the point in having a car if your scared of a pothole might as well just take the bus like JJ lol

Man, I have to take a f-in bus! I won't be able to come until after 1:30. Wife has to work till 1 so I have both kids.

Kids can't come? Wait a minute, it's take your kids to work day, on the 12th! I promise I won't show the younguns how to make a merry-go-round go like a bat out of hell! Hint: everybody starts on the outside edge and you make it go as fast as possible, then like a skater pulling her arms in, everybody climbs to the middle. Whoever doesn't make it to the middle flies off at about a million miles an hour.

Your kids are safe with us!

Well sooner or later, you can only hold so much beer and tequila and you have to call AAA to drive you and your car home so you don't call the cops about your car getting jacked.

Then eventually remembering it's at Hooters. Right where you left it.

That'll all happen around 4-6.

Driving back from Seattle so the later the better for me. So we went from Hooters to a park again? Maybe a poll for the location would help. Say options like Spokane Park Location, CDA Park Location, Hooters....

I think those were the favored locations throughout the discussion*shrugs*

there is no way to please everyone on where and when so just pick a date, time and place and post it. if you want to make it you will find a way :p

Might want to make sure its OK to meet there.

That is a PRIVATE park, not owned by county or city. I've already been talked to twice for taking pictures there, and for screwing around golfing.

blue98neon
04-02-2008, 09:21 PM
Ive been loking for a phone number to contact them, but ill have to search a little bit harder for the number to the park. already knew it, was in the process, thanks :)

pretty sure JJ was talking about april 12th and conclusive beginning about about 1-130.

btw, david, i know you work in the valley and i know you leave work at about 3 or 4 PM (i think lol) either way, considering, you saw the sun today :) it was a very nice day, in my opinion (unless something changed after i fell asleep at about 430)

As for it being in a park - i dont think its just a park. It would definitely hold a lot of cars and has a jungle gym (for those with kids that would have/like to bring them) bathroom facilities, lots of grass (might still be yellowish, but its better than dirt). We could tentatively plan to have it at Plants Ferry Park and could have a back up plan of Hooters (or something) just incase something outdoors might not work for that day. Hooters isnt that far off from the park, just a jump, hop, and skip down the road.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, you of course have the right to suggest.

Ok well the Plants Ferry Park is county owned and will be quite busy the 12 do to the openning of the men's softball spring fling. The lady said every area in the park will be filled. And well flying balls is BAD for nice cars! And also the one thing never stated before is the $30 fee and the $50.00 cleaning deposit for the county owned parks. Now the city charges that also..... I didn't feel it was needed to be brought up before. So who ever feels like paying for that.... Oh ya I know see I did pay for it and most of the food but people didn't seem to appreciate the effort.

VWLover

You think if 20 nice cars just "randomly" show up at a park, and the drivers decide to throw a little BBQ someone's really gonna flip us shit? (assuming its a city park)

Its not like we're throwing any kind of party, car show, or swap meet. A handfull of guys (and gals) just getting together for lunch at a park seems a little insignificant when concerned about paying to do so. I figure if everyone just picks up after themselves there shouldnt be a problem...

NIevo
04-03-2008, 03:40 PM
Well how about meeting at a restaurant somewhere with good parking? Just throwing it out there. If we go at 1:30-2 they shouldn't be too busy and we wouldn't have to pay to use it. We could do the Valley Mall area or there are a couple places we have meet before that have abandoned store parking area's next to them.

VWLover

No one is saying they will flip you shit but, as with the last one done at a city park one person shows up making a bunch of noise and the people who lived close all came out complaining and the reason cops didn't show up is we had permission, and a reservation to be there. I am sure that kendra can remember that.... I just made mention of the event planned at that park , on that day to save any unwanted broken windows or dents. I hope it works out for you guys.

04-03-2008, 04:23 PM
Wow, do you think we could start a riot? My Mom'll see me on the news and be all embarrassed. I'd better not get tazed but if Kendra does, I'll give extra to the Policemen's Ball and equal shares to whoever tapes it! :p

If that happened to me, I'd be so famous in my family. It'd be worth it just for that. My Dad'd think it was *GREAT*!

*I wasnt saying that with any kind of attitude, I was just didnt know what the big deal of just showing up was.

I think I remember hearing something about that now, wasnt that the RX7 guy? I just say we put some sort of rule out there that anyone pulling any kind of jackass shit takes an uppercut to the gut from everyone at the meet.

I agree that meeting at like the valley mall or something would be a good idea - lots of restaurants in the area and lots of parking - we could contact the mall's company and see about it, or just show up - im sure that security *might* come talk to us, but i dont see it as being a problem considering its the mall and tons of people park there on a daily basis.... maybe talk to them about setting off a specific area just for us? idk

and, i agree, the last one was a good time -- its just been two years..... yeah, it was that rx-7 guy (ian?) that caused a problem, but all is good. and deb, you did put a lot of effort into the gathering, but not all credit goes to you, just fyi, but you did do a major part of it and it was well appreciated as you know :)

blue98neon

My vote is to go to a restaurant like JJ said.

If we BBQ, who is going to bring everything? Relying on a bunch of people to bring a bunch of essential stuff is going to be a clusterfuck. If one person is in charge of it all, who is going to fun it? We're back at square one.

With a restaurant we can be like "yo we have 20 people coming to eat" and call it good.

X eleventy friggen billion. Dennys, Sharis, etc. should not even be an option lol. Anywhere alse would be cool though.

I dont really see the problem with a park (except maybe weather). If people wanna eat, they'll bring their own food simple as that. Might not be as much fun for the cook(s) though.

Syringa and Ichiban both have Kobe beef. Best beef available in America without straight-up stealing from Japan.

They could probably even barbecue it for you and put some longhorn sauce on it [sob].

Wolf Lodge would love to have a buncha racers hang out there for a day but it's spendy. Talk about beef!

There's a restaurant on Sherman that's pretty auto-friendly and wouldn't care if we choked up the whole downtown, as long as it's car related.

Very few police too. Which came in handy today, when I left the hardware store sideways. Musta had something on the tires [ahem].

I think theres more people from the WA side so a meet in the Valley would make sense. I agree with Milan, don't want to go somewhere with a limited menu. Lets start a running vote as to where to go. I say Red Robin.

They have something for virtually everyone, a good parking lot, beer, dessert, etc. etc.

Syringa and Ichiban both have Kobe beef. Best beef available in America without straight-up stealing from Japan.

Takara has Kobe as well along with steaks and other non-fish meats.
Syringa is not even close to as good as Takara, they get their fish more often too;)

Ohh and Im with the "I dont care" votes LOL

Yeah, but there will be half as many cars as people b/c of all the ones that don't start or break down on the way. And you can find Red Robin, because it'll be the restaurant with absolutely NO EVO's in the parking lot.

8 gallons of race gas to get to RedRobin, from Cd'A?!?! On the other hand, I've never drifted the freeway before.

I know there won't be any Evo's, hence why I said look for the POS's. Wouldn't do any good to tell him to look for a Mustang, thats like telling someone in California to look for the people, there f-in everywhere.
