Well, I spent flipping forever putting my one piece driveshaft in. What a nightmare. Took forever and I had to remove my cool, $26, ghetto, Saleen short shifter, to get it in. The bottom of the adapter was rubbing the bellows of the adjustable part of the shaft :( Now my shifter feels all mooshy.

The rear of the shaft has a wobble of about 1/8 inch though so tomorrow, it comes back out of the garage and back up on the fucking jackstands and I will move it around until I find a spot where it doesn't wobble. There are 8 holes in the flange and four on the U-Joint. That means there are 7 more possibilities for me to explore :( Who's idea was it to make bolts that are 12 sided?!?! I have never even heard of these. I stared at them for a while before figuring out what the hell they were!

Good luck finding a set of 12 point impact sockets.

It was fun, getting the gear-oil-surprise, when the flange finally popped off the front of the diff. Lost a shot glass or so-worth.

Nice, long peel outs now. First gear was always a struggle but now... schmoke. Even with my economy tune. Tomorrow the UCA goes in. With the rear shaft off it's flange, I can get to the UCA way easier.

I am so filthy from gardening in the morning and working on the car all afternoon, I thought Safeway would call security when the new "homeless" guy shuffled in. Maybe they took pity on me.

Nice working on replacing my headers this weekend. Spent about 2hrs dropping the k member and pulling the piece of shit SHM headers off. Only had them on for about 5 weeks and hardly drove the car because of them.

Got my beautiful American Racing ones that i will put on tomorrow. No midpipe yet so open headers for a little while:D

I'm playing it safe until I can get the shaft wobble thing worked out. I sure hope today goes well. Upper control arm *should* go in today, unless I get disgusted, with the shaft. I can't imagine why it wobbles. Misalignment?

Also haven't heard back from leonardracing yet but I am basing my expectations on the fact that Ron has always re-emailed, even on weekends and even when he is at the races. Hella good customer service.

How does it wobble? It shouldn't really wobble at all.

where exactly is it wobbling?

Got it figured out. The wobble is only in the last foot or so of the shaft. Not a shaft problem (although the manufacturer is sending me a new shaft/flange/bolt kit). The flange is one of many manufactured by Spicer, that was not ground flat. This oen is not even close. The reason it snuck out of the shop, after they thought they had it nailed was this was a shaft used for advertising and the instruction manual, on the owner's car. It was never driven.

There are 4 bolts to which the U-Joint mates. When I go around to the back of the flange, where the ends of the bolts stick out, the bolt, at the bottom of the diamond, sticks out, about two threads. The next two stick out about one thread. The one at the top of the diamond is flush. The joint is flush with the flange. Spydershaft told me to check that and why. It looks like the wobble is really only where the u-joint is being moved back and forth, by the slight wobble of the flange. By slight, I mean it's fatter on one side, by about a 10th of an inch! Way off.

Ron Leonard is making me a new shaft, balancing it himself and mounting it on his personal car tonight. He will drive it this weekend to make certain everything is perfect and then send it to me.

Every email I have sent has been replied to immediately. His words were "I want to send you a new shaft and kit, with a return stamp so you can drop off the old shaft kit, in the same box, at UPS."

What other company would stand behind their product like that?

I only found one other guy with a shaft wobble (it turned out the guy who installed his gears, at the same time put them in wrong) and he also got a new shaft, right away. I can't say enough good things about this guy.
