Hey spokane, haven't posted in ages.
My old d16y7 build went tits up around 7 months ago in traffic on I5 in seattle, read: broken actuator arm (20 plus psi) plus 9.5:1 c/r doesn't mix well with felpro headgaskets.
cracked the block..sleeves stayed intact but outer aluminum did not, hairline crack across the front of the block plus oblong #2 cylinder.
I've been busy working in seattle (moved from moscow to pursue a career as a union electrician) so i havent had a chance to work on the car...it has been sitting in juliaetta, ID at my brother's shop since december.
well, time for a rebuild. My friend mike hooked me up with a d16a6 block, stripped it all down and its ready for the machine shop...and i just purchased a set of vitaras..to lower the c/r down a bit. I will still use my y7 head with the delta 272 and my eagle rods.
I'm going to modify my vx manifold to accept an external wastegate and port it as much as i can, also going to port my o2 housing and weld the internal gate in my 14b. Going to max out the 14b (again) and see if i can push my car into the 250 whp range, possibly later i will upgrade to a 16g, we'll see.
