Hey spokane, haven't posted in ages.

My old d16y7 build went tits up around 7 months ago in traffic on I5 in seattle, read: broken actuator arm (20 plus psi) plus 9.5:1 c/r doesn't mix well with felpro headgaskets.

cracked the block..sleeves stayed intact but outer aluminum did not, hairline crack across the front of the block plus oblong #2 cylinder.

I've been busy working in seattle (moved from moscow to pursue a career as a union electrician) so i havent had a chance to work on the car...it has been sitting in juliaetta, ID at my brother's shop since december.

well, time for a rebuild. My friend mike hooked me up with a d16a6 block, stripped it all down and its ready for the machine shop...and i just purchased a set of vitaras..to lower the c/r down a bit. I will still use my y7 head with the delta 272 and my eagle rods.

I'm going to modify my vx manifold to accept an external wastegate and port it as much as i can, also going to port my o2 housing and weld the internal gate in my 14b. Going to max out the 14b (again) and see if i can push my car into the 250 whp range, possibly later i will upgrade to a 16g, we'll see.

why dont you run a like a 57 trim with a good manifold?? 250whp wud be easyer to acccopmlish.. then you dont need to mod the vx mani.. my friend has a d-series t3/t4 log mani.. its flanged for 35/38mm gate..

should be a screamer on the street too, no full boost at 4k bullshit.

don't get me a wrong, a .57 trim would be nice but i forsee a little under 250whp very easily with my current setup...

i would guess i was already running 220-230 whp on the previous setup.

Yesterday, I thought I saw what'shisface, with the teal hatch but it was a guy in a regular civic that was the same color combo. Very cool look. I think I dreamed about the hatch, last night though because of the other Civic. :)

I'd like to see that one at the track.

I think the night I raced you, I got smoked by some kid in a Civic. 12.1 at 125 or some shit. I was about 3 car lenghts ahead by half track but as we neared the finish line, he reeled me in. I could hear him coming "neeeeeeeeeeneeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEENEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENE EEEEEEEEOOWM[pop pop pop] The only real race was for reaction time. 0.008 to my 0.007. I think I ran a 13.8, that race.

I think Joe is the kind of dude that enjoys putting whatever he has to use and seeing how far it'll go...

Sometimes DIY/homemade projects can be much more gratifiying than a high dollar build.

It takes some problem solving skills and inginuity(sp?) to complete a build like that.
