Has anyone ever had a problem with Black Magic's Wet Shine Spray Detailer? The last few times I have used it I got nothing but cloud and streaks. VERY frustrating. My glass cleaner detailed my car better than this stuff!
I tried several different things including using new cloths for each small section, rubbing harder and using less/more product. Anyone? Anyone?

Don't use dish soap. It's too strong for cars. It eats away wax and clear coats.

Only use dish soap if you are about to wax your car.
I don't believe that dish soap can eat away clear coat. If someone can explain to me how soap can "eat away" clear coat that would be awesome....it's not a solvent.

I dont believe that dish soap eats off the clear coat. My dad uses dish soap to wash all of his cars and has for as long as I can remember and has never had that problem...

Clear coats are water-based on most cars built since the early 90s. Some dish-washing detergents can and will bond with the paint and remove small amounts of it. I'm not saying that using dish-washing soap will automatically remove every amount of clear coat from your car on the first time.

so then just use a little car wash and water to get the "spots" off....yea but NO BLACK MAGIC DETAILER...STAY AWAY FROM IT ha ha

I use my detail shop's supplies. It's nice having a desiel burning 130*F pressure washer, steam cleaner, and 10 gallons of every cemical you could think of at your disposure..

Mustang girl, a good way to get rid of any spots that remain is to just use a tiny drop of car wash concentrate. also, Eagle One makes a pretty good quick detailer, so does Mother's and Groit's Garage. and you should get a set of microfiber towels to use to dry off the car and they work great for those little touch-ups.

Yea, I know about detailing. I've been doing car shows for several years and have learned from others in the Mustang Club. I was just stating that Black Magic can kiss my ass when it comes to a detailing product :P

It is very nice to have all the detail supplies and cleaners, but sometimes hours at the lot suck!

Being a show car guy myself, I stick with most Meguire's products. Detailer, wax, rim and tire shine. Use Mother's leather cleaner/conditioner for the inside and some Zep window cleaner that I love. Trial and error for me. Found what I like and don't like. Black Magic is garbage and I don't care for Armor-all either.

I'm with you towards Armor All. That stuff is garbage. I lived in FL for 20 years before I joined the AF, and we used to use Armor All in our cars, until we had a two year old car with a cracked, peeling dashboard from being dried out from Armor All use.
Yeah, it is mostly trial and error. I agree about Meguire's products. Their Gold Class line is great for the money without having to spend a fortune on Mother's or some of the other high-end brands.

I was talking about using dish soap on the inside....
The only time I'd use dish soap on the outside is before taking the car in to be painted....
On the outside I typically use turtle wash and wax, followed up by speedglaze wax, stay black on all black plastics, and armoral tire shine on the tires. On the windows and mirrors I use windex. On clear plastics I use Plexus. Then I use a Q tip to remove the wax from all cracks.
On the inside I use armoral, and windex. If the inside is really dirty then I'll take a bowl of water with just a tad of dish soap, and follow that up with armoral. A soft bristled tooth brush and q tips work great for getting into all the cracks and crannies.
On the gauge cluster I will use plexus....
