Hello everyone,
New member here. I have been looking for a site that I can find out information on upcoming shows and events and I think I might be at the right place. I have a project of my own and am looking forward to going to more shows on my days off and in between camping/ atv trips. I have a wife and two daughters and we all usually look forward to the silverwood show every year for the fun it provides for all of us. I work at Kaiser Aluminum and Live in Post Falls. I am looking forward to meeting some of you at the shows and upcoming meets. Thanks for reading.
You can see my ride at cardomain under redthunder1996.

I live here in Post falls by the city beach and keep it locked in my 36x40x16 shop. So it hasn't seen as much daylight in the last year. Thanks for the compliments to all.

I'll give you the long version.
A buddy of mine climbed and cut down 7 large trees for $500.
I paid a bunch of my oldest daughters high school friends about $300 to help me haul away the wood and branches in a rented $120 a day dump trailer.
I paid a childhood friend of mine who now owns his own excavating buisiness $4500 to dig out the stumps have them hauled away and remove the top 12 inches of top soil and tree roots. He then hauled in 180 cubic yards of 3/4 crushed and compacted it 2" deep at a time to add up to 5' deep in the rear of the property to level things off.
The shop itself cost $23,000 complete with insulation, sheeted roof, load rated lumber, and twin 12x14 insulated Amar doors.
I paid another $3000 for the concrete floor installed with the thickest rebar.
I paid $1700 for 100 amp service to the shop with a 50 amp outlet, 11 regular outlets, a ceiling fan up in the rafters, (6) 8' high output flourescent lights and 3 exterior lights. And when I get the next $1600 I will be installing 2 industrial openers with remotes and wall mounted open-stop-close controls.
All in all I will be in it about $39k when completed.
The funniest part of the whole thing is the wife was against building a shop (so were the neighbors) and as usual didn't see why we needed such a thing. But she has done a complete 180 and now says she will never own another property without one! So if any of you are having the same problem, you can have your wife talk to mine and we'll get ya hooked up.:D

I was hoping you were going to say $2100 or something... sigh.
I'll need your wife's direct number for that phone call, once I get married.
I'd like to put my current Girlfriend's craft room out there too so 24/7 heat is important.
At work, I sketch what her work table will look like. It's getting elaborate.
4'x8'x3/8 inch wet sanded steel with lowerable overlays of aluminum and end grain poplar. The end grain will have a veneer of cheap linoleum on one side so she can flip it for a smooth, warm surface or one to cut on and not worry about scoring scratches in it. The steel top is so I can weld on any things she might need or drill and bolt tools that are not always used but need a firm base, like an industrial sewing machine. Steel also is color neutral so she can compare colors without it messing up her eyes, like anodized aluminum would. The aluminum overlay will be a 4x8 foot piece of hard anodized aluminum.
My fantasy shop has electric heat and a wood stove.
Lisa's craft stuff needs to be kept heated and can't freeze. I'd like somewhere to store the Jaguar rather than the driveway too. The Mustang lives in my one car garage.

Here's the thing; if your lot is big enough to build a shop on then just get a secind on your home and build it. The interest on the second is tax deductable. And once you build it, it would increase your properties value, so its kinda like puttin money in the bank. Also think about the damage the suns radiation is causing on all your precious toys. It also will clear up any clutter in your home which would make any woman happy! I can't think of a reason not to. Figure around $200 a month or a little more for the loan. Banks are always offering no fee loans where you pay no closing costs as well. Think about it.

But you can only deduct the amount of interest you pay, above your standard deduction, which i slike $3500 or $5000, depending on which candidate wins. Last year, I think it was $5000. I paid less than that in mortgage interest so....
I have a mortgage on my house (obviously) and have never, in all these years been able to deduct a single penny of my interest. Interest rate is too low. Not that I am complaining about a good rate but still....
If I paid more, I could only take off the interest amount, from my income so I would only be able to get back about 24% of the interest because that's the tax I paid on that amount of income.
I swear, the things Americans have to bitch about.... "Wah, my mortgage is too small to be able to deduct any of it from my tiny taxes. Boo hoo!" LOL!
We live in palaces, compared to a lot of countries. I heard a Russian, back in the 80's complaining about American's opulence. "Even the poorest Americans have cars." Now every trailer has at least one cell phone. Even the poorest are *rich*.
I'm not complaining.
But I still want a shop [looking down and kicking the dirt].
