Project bring the Ruckus!

OK so the Ruckus is on the way and a new project begins. Not sure how carzy Im getting on this one but parts are cheap and a lot can be done on a little coin. The new 2009 Ruckus gets here on the 31st. 1st part order is below and since brakes and handling are the most important I took care of that 1st. Keep an eye on the thread, I will update pics fromm time to time and show progess. This will be my pit bike for Excelerator this year so if the parts come in quickly I may have them on by then.

I've been looking for a Ruckus for over 6 months (used), cuz at one time you could pick them up for just over a thousand. Now, that gas prices have gone up there is at minimum a $1000 boost in the price tag.

Hope it will be fixed up in time 4 excelerator. They had all my parts in stock other then the forks, they are about a week out. Should be in good shape if the dealership gets it on time.

Sport bikes dont get 100 mpg

true, true. But its the same thing having a honda that can go 10's and gets 10 mpg or a honda that goes 16's and gets 40 mpg. a ruckus that gets 100 mpg and can go maybe 70 with mods, or a sportbike that can get 50 mpg and go 150 or so. Its all personal preference. I love the style of a ruckus for a scooter though. and its got a lot of multipul purpouses

Im not getting to crazy on Ruckus mods. Even with a 150cc engine swap it would get uber gas mileage.

One of the guys that works at northside Napa drives a Ruckus and it looks cool... not sure if i'd buy one though.

Another thing i was thinking was the possible high rate of theft on those scooters in about another year or so...

I found mine through internet sales. Its from a dealer in Texas but since it is new and there is such a long list for them mine will not be expected until Novemberish. Just in time to tweak it during winter months.
