Thats the one i am running in my drag vw...5,500 rpm launches and it will break axels or gears..Clutch wont even slip @ 9k rpm shifts!!

That's the one I have in the Evo. She grabs like a son-biaaach, always.
She as survived many 6k launches into awd.??Still grabs like it is new.??Sitting at a stop light waiting for a green gives the L leg a hell of a work out though.:D

i'd rather go with a little softer clutch as opposed to break expensive things. I mean unless you've gone thru the car and beefed up the entire drivetrain....

I had the 4 puck race clutch in there before, the tranny eventually wore out but nothing surprising.. The 4 puck clutch actually looks good still..
One of my axles had lost a seal at the diff, that explains the sudden oil down under the car & flung around.. As much fluid that was in the casing with the clutch im surprised it didnt slip..Or I didnt feel it

That short shift kit was easy to install, I sat where the tranny goes to put that stuff in.. Just had to match up the pieces..

I dont have nearly as much power as you TurboNuts (dyno Tested) even launching at 6500 should be ok.. I even got some axel practice in, just incase

Soft clutch's dont seem to appreciate my balls to the wall clutch dumpin driving style.. With no daily driver plans this should work out ok, I just need to look for another tranny to have ready

On a sidenote, since I was up late with the car & am going to Silverwood today, I'm not going to work!! Yaayyy!!

You might also look into the Clutch Specialties clutches that LSDmotorsports.com carries. Ive used his clutches in all my builds (including my buddies), and they never dissapoint! especially the price too.

I used to run the unsprung 6puck, the only thing i didn't like was that it chewed up the pressure plate & flywheel.

This year i got the stageII clutch (HD pressure plate/ street&strip disk), much nicer to drive on the street. 6500-7000 rpm launches all season with no complaints.

Stick with the ACT. I bought and blew up several very exspensive clutches before the ACT stage 5..A major part of the clutch is in the pressure plate design!! <vw ass backwards> The act clutch WORKS on VW's dont know about others but thats my story and i'm stickin' to it...

yeah... some swear by ACT, but you know i'm low budget!

i do what works at the lowest price possible, it takes practice to get it down though. haha...

I have that same clutch in my 240, it has bout 6000 miles on it including many nights at the track doing 5500-6000 rpm launches on drag radials as well as numerous clutch kicks while out messing around in parking lots and its still gripping like a son of a bitch.

Mine was only $300 shipped, that was the cheapest I found out of all the clutches that were of equal performance. I think I've got the budget build plan down pretty well... low 12's for $4500 including the price of my car;)

you could always considering going with the stiffer clutch however with maybe an organic disk, sure you'll smoke discs but it's better then breaking things....

Thats pretty much what i opted for. If you have to have ACT, XTSS is what you'd want, its rated for 280ft lbs of torque.
