Coming back from CDA last night with the girly friend I was driving on I-90 towards Spokane and out of nowhere my Valentine flashed the 3 bars meaning LASER.

If you know how laser works you will know that the only thing your detector can do is tell you that you just got tagged. Since they check speed using laser on a car by car basis there is no playing it off like it was the car next to you.

The cop was hidden pretty damn well, it was one of those all black chargers.

Luckily I wasn't speeding (I just slowed down from 90mph lol). Looks like I will have to join Marble and get a laser jammer.

No the point of the Valentine is for RADAR.

Well I've never seen it before and 90% of the driving I do is in WA.

BTW this was in Idaho....right outside of Post Falls

bike cops use lasers also, most cops are switching to them now.
Where's good place to get a jammer that's not overly expensive?

Ive looked into this in the past... You can go all out and buy a premade jammer, but Ive read up on several early model laser-detectors that can be "h@x0r3d" into being able to jam laser signals on the cheap. Cheney is laser city with all their fucking Impalas and now new-to-2008 fleet of EWU police Chargers...

Im so glad Im graduating this spring...

The only thing I wonder about is if the cops will just laser the car next to you and say thats how fast you were going?

what if they cant get your speed would they still pull you over and try to search car or harass you in any other way??

Good question since jammers are illegal.

well as long as its well hidden....they can't seach your car without a warrant?

Thought lasers got some sort of deflection to them so the detector can warn you? If you are the sole car though in an area than yea, you are kind of screwed there. I know I have picked up signals before this summer when I was going 15+ and when I get the signal drop speed right away and they never flinch as I go by them.

Only downside for them is they have to be stationary unless there is something new out there. As long as you can see the end of the road you are still perfectly safe with the good ol' radar sniffer. :D

Only radar jammers, laser jammers are legal.

laser diffusers are not illeagal!!!!!!!! because the govenment cant own light like they can a radar frequncy. A laser diffuser is not a Jammer.

You can get a diffuser from just about any Car audio shop like aspen sound or snows auto.

if you have a diffuser the cops cant get a reading on your car at all. And the diffuser has LEDs to indicate when your car has been hit.

the way a diffuser works is when it senses the laser hitting your car it then difusses the beam buy sending back mutiple beams back at the gun and it can not get a proper reading cause the return beam doesn't have the intensity as the original beam.

I know about these cause i sold them for aspen sound for about 3 years.

So you need a front plate for one of those difusers to work? I did see the bar mount one, not sure if I could utilize a similar area on the TA like I could on the GP or any other cars with it really having no grille. There are the side ducts under the driving lights or I could modify the nostrils of the bumper to maybe make them work.

I heard they had helicopters earlier this year in Cali SPECIFICALLY looking for individuals doing more than 50 over the speed. 50!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They supposedly got over 80 individuals w/in an hour and a half!!

Unreal.

PS - I once got a ticket doing 101 in a 70. Just a ticket, no reckless, no jail, no nuttin.

i got really lucky... i was driving the 04 s4 back from cali for my friend who had kidney failure and congestive heart failure and was flying back home to wa. (was going to wyotec but had to leave for health) but anyways. the car isnt transfered into his name yet. i had no proof i knew him, and the car wasnt insured (all of this i didnt know before i got pulled over..) his sister is big on doing everything right then and there so i didnt even think of it.. but oh well. just an infraction, no misdimener etc. and he only wrote me down for speeding. probably because i have no prior tickets or even warnings, but i honestly think i was going 85 (not much better but thats what the spedo said)

Well considering traffic moves at 80-90 almost everywhere in California (when it's physically possible) I totally believe that.

I personally drove from San Diego to Costa Mesa (Orange County) and went like 100-110 the whole way and I was NOT the only person going that fast. This was in a Ford Escort too.

Thats how it was in St Louis too. If you weren't doing 15-20mph over the limit you better get your ass in the slow lane. It was a 70mph speed limit and I had a cop fly by me when I was doing 90 and he never even paid any attention, he was probably doing 95-100 and just cruising.
