89 S10 Manual tranny install help [Archive]

Hey guys, im helping a friend install his manual tranny into his S10. Its a 4x4 with the 2.8 and a manual. we replaced the clutch and everything. the bellhousing is bolted to the block. We cant get it to slide into the throwout barring! its kicking our ass. Any tips you guys have??

just the obvious, make sure the disc was lined up....and you mean throwout bearing or pilot bearing?

You/he checked that the correct pilot bearing is installed and the correct throwout and clutch as well, right?

Yep. Got it all back in, new clutch and all. did all the seals. The barring got eag shaped when we taped it in. so we had to get a new one again and I tryed it again. So its all gone. Thanks guys

cool deal just got done taking apart travis nv3500 apart you talk about some damage!!!!!!!!
