Here's a link to a guy's pics of a Saleen supercharged 3v 4.6L V8. He threw all 8 rods.

In one sitting.

All pistons cracked (one missing), cylinder walls split and punctured. Main bearings shredded, valves bent. This was a Saleen install too. :ughnoes:

Yeah, all we know so far is that it was something big and bad. The guy's buying a stroker this time but so far, no one knows what happened or where he was. This could have been a missed-third-hit-first-instead scenario.

So far, it appears the only salvageable parts are the heads. Lots of bent valves :(

Yeah, or a missed 5th hit 1st lol. A missed shift seems to be the most reasonable explanation to do all that damage at once. The fact that he hasnt said what happened probly means hes too embarrassed also lol.

That had to sound better than the Hot Street motor I watched blow up on the engine dyno!

I was skimming through that thread and found out that the saleen in the pics is actually here in Houston. Gonna ask around and see if it was seen at the track this weekend somewhere and what the real story is!

I was wondering about a dyno accident, with a bad tune but I think a missed shift sounds more realistic. I just want to know.

asked around school, and no one saw any saleen's at the track last weekend. Still gotta check in w/ the street racing crowd, but no word yet. From the looks of what's left of the pistons, it was running stupid lean. My best guess is he tried putting on a nitrous kit and either installed it incorrectly or ran way too much nitrous w/ a stock/bad tune.
