Ok, I'm not done ranting!!
Work sucked yesterday. UPS also lost our dealerships delivery. Sent it to Meridian Idaho! SO I got pissed off customers. Caused me to be overbooked cuz I had cars sitting here and all my hoists in use! Not to mention two drivability nightmares!
Oh, and my landlords want to sell the house we're in. They offered it to us for 125k. First thing out of my mouth, "but you only paid 60k 9 months ago"?!?!?
So I'm done mowing and watering the lawn which I started from scratch.
So I go home, and the wife and I put away a half case. I'm a hurting unit and today isn't much better!!!

Damn Matt, sounds like one hell of a shitty day. People don't understand that it isn't your fault that the parts aren't there yet, there is only so much you can do. If UPS sends the parts to the wrong place its not like you can just go into the back and magically make their parts appear. Kinda figures on your landlords thinking that they have gold and trying to get a bunch out of their house. Do ya happen to know what similar houses are going for in your area?

I especially like the customers who come in and want to know why their SES light is on. Yes, I hook a small hand held computer to it and it gives me a trouble code but it doesn't tell me exactly whats wrong or magically fix it.
The 125k is well above average. yes, it is a 4 bedroom house and most others are 2 bedroom. But, it was built in 1908, never been updated, needs sided, windows, electrical , baseboard heat, and the center of the house has settled 2". So, we'll probablyh move to Moscow. The wife will have to drive to work instead of me which I will have to listen to her bitch about.
Reminds me, did I buy a lottery ticket? In order for the average american to get ahead in life.... win the lottery, have a close relative die, distribute drugs, rob a bank. Not a lot of prospects. Am I whining?

Where do you work? You said in Moscow right?
Also you told me you live in Potlach but you never said what you drive...
Hope your day is better

Ok, my headache subsided for a short time but now it's back!!!! Get the engine longblocked, tinned and ready to go. Bolt it to the trans. UH OH!! I have no converter spacing(freeplay). So I separate them, make sure the converter is seated(it is). Now I've been trying to figure the problem out for a whole day. I pulled the input shaft out and bolted everything back up. Still no clearance. So I ask GOOGLE for some help. Seems I have the wrong bellhousing. Ford made a ton of different ones. My bellhousing has a height of 6.25"(D7DP-7976-AA). Which it seems is too close. I believe I need one with a height of 6.875"(E2AP-7976-AA).

The only bellhousings for C4's that i know of are big and small bellhousing. What are you running? 157 or 164? Just do a JW like me and solve all your problems, i don't even need the stupid block plate.

So I talked to the guy at redneck. He says I have the right bellhousing. AJ at Andys says so too. No I have no clue. Its a 164. Yeah, theres only a few bellhousings. AJ suggested shimming the bellhousing. Don't like the idea.

Run motor plates. That would make a good shim. :)

Matt who's convertor are you running? Maybe try and borrow back your old one, or try a stock one to see how everything lines up, are you running a block plate?

I bought a trans/converter set up from redneck trans in TX. I went to the trans shop and compared the new converter to a new one they had and mine is taller at the mounting tabs. .250 at least. So I'll have to ship mine back. Hopefully they will just ship a new without having to receive mine first. I want this damn thing moving!!!!
Oh, and the mid plate idea ..... :P

Well, once again I think I figured it out. There is a height difference between 157T and 164T converters. Mine is correct. They took the converter apart and measured everything and its perfect. Out of the blue I ask him about flexplate height. There are only a few options here. Basically 157T or 164T. Oh, wait. After talking to my flexplate supplier there is a flexplate for SB to a C6. Guess what they gave me!!!! So they ship me a flexplate for a SB to C4. And wouldn't you know it there's a height difference where the converter mounts. About .220
So, I shipped my converter back to Texas for nothing, have to ship it back. Gave myself an ulcer and generally whined to everyone who would listen. All this because a F*N parts guy goofed. Thankfully the trans guy is way cool. I couldn't apologize enough. He said no problem. He learned something he didn't know to think of. SO, I paid 2 day freight to get it back by friday. Wife wasn't happy that I spent more money on the car but nothing some box munching wont fix.
Short of it is.....
Hopefully this bucket of shit will be going down the track saturday!
HOPEFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
