Looks like a wild ride too :D
I don't think the US BMW will ever catch the 7/8 second Bimmers overseas though :(

Lol...yeah. Despite my dislike for the German motorcars...it does deserve a little respect. Indeed, it does look like a wild ride, but I agree the bimmers overseas are FAR superior to anything over here.

They've been putting the same cars into the 7s and 8s for over 20 years over there :(

Things that different with the cars here in the USA compared to over in Europe? Would think nearly the same thing as over there could be done here, just the cost might be a little bit steeper.

They've been doing it much longer...its not really a matter of equipment being all that much different. Someone will jump on me for saying that, but essentially they carry the same "meat & potatoes" if you will..heh

Actually a big part of it is equipment at least for BMWs... they start with better engines over there. Example is the E36 M3 engine over here is 240bhp while the Euro Model is 286 or 321 (3.0 or 3.2) with dual VANOS and forged internals...
Things have evened out though now as BMW hasn't been releasing Euro based model engines anymore since the E30 and E36.

I stand corrected. I wasn't aware of such a drastic difference in the performance numbers...

Yeah and they go 6spd trannys that can handle tons of power, stronger 6 bolt diffs, etc...
