Ok, first off I want to say im sorry if anyone is with this company or anything. Now my rant.

So I took over my Valve Covers,Intake,CAI,Timming Cover and some other little shit to Lake City Powdercoating. I have always used Quality Powdercoating, but had a friend that blasted for Lake City, So I figgered I would give them a shot. When I went there the first day On a Monday I took everything there and I wanted it all done in Chrome, the Chrome powdercoating, I know its hard to do but he said yeah no problem at all! He said it wont look JUST like chrome but it will be shinny and chrome like. He showed me the powder chip. So I asked him many times if he could do it and he new the look I was after and he said yes. So I left with all my stuff there. He told me about 4 days and he would call me. So now its next Monday and no call, I call him and say so whats up with my parts. He said O yeah they are done. I figgered it was kinda crazy that he never called me. So me and my friends go over there and walk to the back of his shop to grab them, and he hands me my valve cover and its silver. I right away said yeah thats not chrome. He said yes it is, thats the chrome in the book. So then I saw the intake and it looked like ass. I said lets go look at the book, we hold the paint chip to the valve cover and its day and night difference. Now he is saying " well then fucking take it some place different then" No a problem! So then we grabed everything and the next day took it by Quility Powdercoating and he looked at it, and said wow, he cooked it WAY to long. and he dident even clean it eather, and pointed out all the dirt in the powder. On all the sides and corners its cracking to. Also at the very start he said " If your not happy I will strip it all off and you can have your stuff back" So we called him and asked what he used to strip it,and he said just aircraft stripper. So I said ok we will be over. and He hung up. So now we are going back over and he looks at my buddy like what the hell are you here? He said for you to strip all the parts like you said you would, he said, "Fuck him I have done plenty of work for free!" What happend to what he said at the very start before YOU fucked up MY shit? He said for him to strip them he wont give them back unless I pay him $400, so my buddy said fuck it we will just do it, and as he is walking out the door, the owner said yeah you can go tell him to go Fuck him self. During the 2ed part I wasent with my friend. I just wanted to put that out there, that this guy has NO customer service, go's back on his work. Tells his customers to fuck them selfs. Sorry for the long post. So Now I have shitty ass powdercoated parts sitting here.

Customer service is everything. I will drive 30 minutes out of my way to go to CDL power tool rather than put up with spokane power tool.

Hope it all works out for you.

Sorry to hear that. On a side note as a painter I can tell you that a chip can look different from actual product after its been applied and cured on the part. Different tint/shade, gloss, etc.

Now that that is settled...Brian can I make fun of you for wanting chrome in your engine bay?

You and Kyle need to buy matching IROC's and drink PBR together :p

Fuck that milan. Leave me out of this. You just watch, that little ol' IROC will blow the doors off that fancy corvette of Yers. I think you're just jealous.

Rick at quality powdercoating always does an awesome job. He did my rack, skidplate, bumper, rear diff cover, and his fab work is unequalled.

brian I had my bike pieces powder coated by them and they f'd them all up. the only way to get the pure chrome look is to not clear coat the parts after powder coat, if you dont clear them then it will discolor within 2 years. if you want chrome the powder coat is not the way to go.

I've heard nothing but retardedness from them about customer service and even quality...sorry to hear you had that bad of an time with it.

I know one person who left stuff to get coated, was told a few days, week later they forgot they even had the parts to do.

it's not the way to treat a customer especially when economy is so tough and there's competitors out there who want your business.

I have done the Chrome FX products before and attended a class for that and other exotic finishes. What they do not show you in the vid is that every piece you intend on spraying has to be done in pure black first, no nib's, no peal and has to cure for 48 hours before you start the chrome FX.

Yeah. Im not a powdercoater, im not a painter thats why I took my shit to him and was going to PAY him to do it. If he couldent or dident know how, or wasent sure what I wanted, maybe spray a sample and show me. I asked him and he told me he dident have time to do that. I asked him why he dident have a sample of the covers on his wall in his office so we could SEE what it will look like all done. That would save all this from happing.

Marty has all his cold side on his firebird done with this stuff and it looks killer!!!

Thanks for the help guys! It really puts a stop to a project and geting a car running when you plan around someone else doing work for you, then you get the shit and it looks like ass. I have already sent everything to Performance Coatings in Auburn WA.

Powdercoating? (http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,52152.0.html)

"I own a resto shop where we also do powdercoat work , that chrome powder is no where near what real chrome looks like , but it is a very shine bright silver . One more thing that color needs to be clear coated if its going to be outside in sun"
