Anyone here know if you bought a car/truck last year do you get tax refund on sales tax you pay at the time of purchase?

Wow, I never have.
We get taxed on liquor a couple/three times too.
Back, in MD, there were two stamps on the bottle. One state tax stamp and the other a federal tax stamp. One was 24% the other 26%. Add those babies up and 1/3 of the final price was tax (if you take 50% of something and then add it to that, you get 33%).
Then you take the bottle up to the counter and you are charged sales tax... wait for it..... on the tax, as well as the liquor!!!!!

State give a refund on sales tax of a car?! Bwahahaha... no. Never will happen.
What you can do is claim it on your federal 1040 if you itemized and you won't have to pay federal tax on that amount, but a refund... no.
