i installed a larger fast 90mm intake with a fast 90mm throttle body, and at the same time switched to 42# injectors, well i started the car on saturday and it's running very rich and haveing idle issues... i reused my AIC and TPS.. seemed better after about 30min of running, is this to be expected, and just a tuning issue now???

So you put in larger injectors and you're wondering why it's running rich? I'm no expert but I would guess it's tuning

Ya its definately the tune. With bigger injectors, and bigger tb, im kinda surprised it even runs without a tune.

:D Your 5.0 probably ran okay because it may have been lean to begin with..

Yeah its the tune Mark the LS1's dont like running bigger injectors unless the computer is tuned. Buddy with his GTO put 60's in and tried to start it and it idled like it had a 105LSA cam in it lol. Looks like its time to call Marty

Yep that baby needs a date with HP tuners to enter in the new injector size.
Brian has Hp tuners now so the best way to go with a dyno tune and one stop shopping is to take it there. Since you have to pay the 100 bucks to unlock the computer to the HP Tuners interface, you might as well get the full workover like timing and A/F tuning and get rid of the super gay torque management program. Putting a little more line pressure to the tranny (if its an auto) is also a good idea and firms up the shifts a LOT since HP Tuners does all tranny functions too.

yeah i'm gonna get it tuned, but i first need to change out the fuel pump for twin 255's, and finish with the nitrous install.. prob just have it tuned for spray and leave it alone. might lose a few horses N/A but it will be worth it..

I know it goes without saying but DO NOT drive it around in the meanwhile until its tuned.
The good news is it will only take 30 seconds to change the tune simply for injectors only.

it's sittin in the back yard, not going anywhere!! when i have it re-tuned i think were gonna do a dyno tune and get the a/f ratio proper as it was a little fat on top last time... hopefully raising the limiter will let the 90mm products work and give me a little more power... 450rwhp N/A would be nice for a car with cam, intake, exhaust only...:p

bowtiyYeah if you did a cam swap then put the limiter at 7000. Those suckers have a heart of gold at 6500+rpm! A stock Z06 vette makes more power above the factory 6400 rpm redline and pulls the hardest if you shift the 6 speed right at the 7000 limiter.
And thats still the factory ZO6 cam! How much NOS you wanna run? I wish HP tuners could pull timing with NOS and leave the N/A timing as is but it aint so. No worries though as NOS actually seems to quiet down mild pinging so the timing number can almost stay the same as N/A with very little compromise (unless your planning on a HUGE shot).

450whp on stock LS1 heads? How big is this cam you are running? For some reason I feel like LS6 guys have problems reaching 450 whp and that's with "better" heads and a little higher CR.
I think 400whp is more reasonable? What has your car dynoed before?

i dynoed it before with a fast 78mm intake, ported stock t.b., stock mass air, and it made 433 rwhp@6200 and 409tq. it has bone stock longblock, futral motorsports fm-14 camshaft, slp lid, kooks longtubes, still runs through the cats and a fram air filter yo!!
nobody seems to know why it makes the power it does, thats why i was so afraid of changing anything on it... prob wont run the same now.. prob just gonna hit it with a 100-150 shot for spray..
