Some manufacturers call them diffuser plates, but thats not really accurate.
The speed plates will let air move through the rear bumper instead of getting trapped behind. Very useful if your rear bumper support is removed and you just have an open cover creating drag. Available in brushed aluminum or 304 stainless.
These are probably going to come in around $100.00 give or take. I will have a more exact price once I get a feel for demand. Anyone interested??

They are mostly a race application, but some people like them on the street cars. The actually work fairly well for reducing drag in the rear bumper.
I know alot of people just save the $100 bucks and take a hole saw to the bumper, but this look is much cleaner. Im going to have at least one made so I figured I would throw it out there.

You can do it with rivets or screws. I am going to use stainless button socket cap screws myself.
As fas as cutting, you can either do like you said or I will provide a rectangular cut template and then you just attach the plate.

Thats always cool...i'm just asking if this is after the bumper is removed or comparing to removing bumper and installing the "speed plate" at same time...
I guess what I"m getting at is if the weight saved and installing this is better than leaving the bumper BUT i'm sure its all different depending on car.....I've considered taking out the extra weight
How big are these?

Im not a big fan of "universal" parts. Bumpers are all different sizes so it kind of depends on the application.

Taking the rear bumper off on a civic or integra throws the aerodynamics off and makes the car slower, so yes, this is a much better option
