I'm pretty happy, I told myself I'd be happy with anything more than 250 whp. 280 whp = ~350 at the crank with 20% loss. Thats 110 more than stock. Not bad for a cam, headers, and intake!

Thanks Brian!

Vids to come! Forgot to mention first run is through full exhaust, second is open downpipe.

hmm I was expecting more but I guess if you're happy that's all that matters right?

Expecting what? lol

By dyno day it should be over 300 whp. I need bigger injectors and a smaller s/c pulley though. This was at 10 psi... With bigger injectors and smaller pulley I should get to at least 14 psi. Also I'm still on stock unported s/c and throttle body.... Which will be changed.

Also remember this is non intercooled. Oh the possibilities....:D

What's with the red bars? Anyways, sounds mean. Should have had Brian call me.. I would have came over and recorded on a better camera :D I'm about 3 mins from his shop

Auto?

Lol, the bars were that way when I bought the car, except they looked MUCH nicer 2 1/2 years ago. The guy that had it before me had a red & black theme goin on. The calipers are red too. It needs to go back to stock cause everything is flaking off and ghetto looking. Plus I need a good detailing job...

Yes auto. Only available trans for the car.

Not bad at all! can you tell the difference?

Difference as in before the cam? Hell yes! lol its huge. Top end is sooo much better. Better overall balance of power. Used to be all low end and no top end. Now the top and bottom end are almost equal as seen on the graph. Last dyno day about 1 1/2 years ago, I dynod 213 whp and 238 wtq, with an intake and downpipe. Difference? Yeah. :D

just heads up if you have not already done this but my dad has a GTP that he just took to BEcker . they have a recall on them on the engine electrical you can get it fixed for free. dont know if it really matters but i hate to see garages burn down because of the manufacture defects.

Yeah, its for the valve cover gaskets leaking oil on the exhaust manifolds and causing fires. All the gaskets were replaced when installing the cam. No leaks!

Can you tune the tranny too? I know some electronic transmissions can be tuned for tighter shifts and keeping the throttle on, during shifts, and whatnot.

Yep, pretty much anything/everything that has to do with the tranny is tuneable. The shifts are very firm actually, its a built racing trans that is supposedly good to 500 hp. I have torque management (taking away power between shifts) set to pretty much stock since even built trannys are made of glass on these cars.

Congrats! Glad to see your hard work paid off. Now you just gotta get some new times with it when the track opens.

Pussy! :D Just take off the TM and run without it! Only needed for fourth anyways with that weak clutch. Been running mine w/o any TM what so ever and haven't had any issues, knock on wood.

Even though numbers might seem low to some of the V8 guys it is good for 12's pending traction and all that good stuff. Blower really helps it down low and the torque carries it through to where it has the horsepower (now at least) so it should run pretty consistant. The turbo guys with bolt on kits and a IC make 400 WHP and will probably run the same time he will, trap speed is different though.

Thanks Jeremy. I think I saw you driving yesterday afternoon in the Whitworth area.

Yes, I'm scerred. I'm not keen on buying more than 1 $4K trans. Plus you're not making the power I am! HAHA! :p

Can rebuild them for like 1/8th that cost. Besides you have another parts one anyways! ;)

Just think though, my wife has us both beat on power though. :(

Yeah, I keep forgetting I even have my old-new trans lol. She does have us beat.... for now. ;) :D Speaking of that, I think we have a few grudge races to resolve now!

you guuys doin dyno runs in 2nd gear? if so howcome... we tried 2nd and 3rg gear pulls with my cousins grand national and there was a pretty good diff between the two.. third gear was a bit higher...

We did try 1 run in 3rd gear at the end, but IIRC the #'s were pretty much exactly the same.

so what type of still driveable HP and torque numbers are guys getting out of these cars still on the super charger when they're about tapped to the max?

Max effort streetable supercharged is about 380 whp. Thats with the stock M90. A few people have gotten 400 or more with the s/c, but they did a lot of things for higher #'s on the dyno only (things like removed acc. belt, thin oil, etc.) Switching s/c's to a M112, or 140ax whipple obviously changes things. One guy with a 140ax whipple dyno'd 530 whp on a pretty mild build. Torque will almost always be very close or higher than HP with a s/c build.

I'll be perfectly happy if/when I hit 320 whp non intercooled on the little M90. That should be good for damn low 12's and maybe high 11's with slicks.
