Marshall and I are nearing completion of a shop project that taken almost a year to screw together. The owners name is Gordon Kendall and his truck will be done in time for the upcoming Auto Boat Speed show!
I spent all day buffing my brains out and spit shining it. LOL I couldnt find a store bought rollpan i liked so i made my own over the weekend. I think it really brought the whole back of the truck together with the curve of the body lines and such.
Look for it at the show!

your work kicks ass as always Marty, that truck looks bitchen, specially with tha fabbed roll pan in the rear.
I think thats the best looking truck with a roll pan i've seen. It actually fits the lines quite perfect.

Thanks guys! I agree on the roll pan. I looked for a storebought one and realized they all SUCK! Why hasnt anyone made one that looks like what i made? I was flat out amazed how neat it finished off the back end.
I guess im dislocating my shoulder patting myself on the back. Ha ha! Im glad you guys like it too!

You have skills! Looks great!! Cant wait to see it this yearThanks! When the owner first started building it, i dont think it was intended to be as nice as it turned out. He stepped up the cashflow and really did it right.
There are some little fitment issues with the body panels and holes that didnt get filled that i notice. Things that would have been done if it started out with this level of show quality in the beginning but oh well,
It aint too bad overall!

Thanks! It turned out pretty neat and the owner was real happy to win all he did. Now i gotta get busy and yank the trans cuz 3rd gear is a total loss and wont hold 3 horsepower. LOL
Dang new car bugs!

Lookee what sprouted underhood of gordons truck. Two chineese turbos pushing thru the existing blower. Boost will be kept fairly low since its a mellow buildup intended for more of the WTF factor than anything else but i bet it runs plenty good anyways!
Its gonna be interesting to see what boost response will be with a supercharger blasting things up to speed in a hurry. And the cool sounds its gonna make.

looks awesome marty, but i know your not gonna deal with the demon blow thru blues...... are you???
Demon blow thru's are way more work than they are worth..
lots of people told me but......
proud to say i found that one out on my own:stupid:

proud to say i found that one out on my own:stupid: Your right that there isnt much blow thru about the "blow thru" carburetor out of the box but this one is a smaller 650 DP which seems to be useable. As soon as you go 750, the carbs just quit fueling right due to the larger venturi size but the 650's can be made functional.
Another thing you gotta think about is, will this thing ever get turned up to high boost? Probably not. If the blower makes 5 lbs and a safe tune will be around 10 lbs total, the carb should only be dealing with 5 lbs pressure plus those blower rotors whizzing away underneath should generate some decent carb signal. Thats my theory which may be totally out to lunch but were gonna try it! LOL

well i have bad luck lately anyway, mine was a 650bt...and seemed worke fine without the hat on but as soon as i put pressure to it, even at an idle it was blowing air out the throttle shafts, and the idle-eaze had to be plugged just so it would kinda run alright.. demon throttle shafts are not sealed, i went back and forth with Jeff at barry grant tech support on this.. the base plate is billet, and the shafts are steel. so there needs to be room for metal expansion is what he told me, the (shaft clearance) was .010 on the rear and .008 on the front.. i sent the thing back twice and it came back the same both times:mad: i now hate demon carbs

Ha ha, ntrcpter90 started it all and is the one who ruined me. When i raced against his junkyard dog and that thing was pulling on me, sideways in 3rd gear i thought "what the hell is under the hood of that thing?"
Further inspection revealed two junkyard turbos, some home depot plastic pipe, and a whipped 302 that looked like its seen better days, running high 10's. I was hooked! LOL

I got rid of the pvc piping because home depot wouldn't sponsor me.

Gordon Kendalls finished product. We just upgraded to dual blowoff valves for a symmetrical look and made a panel to fill in the upper radiator area. Sure looks pretty! This winter we may build a real motor to make all that crap actually make some horsepower underhood.
Its a stock ZZ3 crate motor so i quit at 11 lbs boost and 400 whp before it butts the ring gap and scatters. LOL

Thanks man! Its funny that truck didnt start out as a very high level of build quality years ago and then turned into what it is now. The thing looks great all done but is actually a little rough around the edges and friggin wins a trophy everywhere it goes!
It has some kind of public appeal with the color and being a truck plus the crazy motor because people have spent WAY more building other cars and cant draw the attention it does. LOL

hey buddy saw the truck at the show last night and after seeing these pics i was all sorts of giddy to see it in person lol and as i was lookin at it for a good 5 min or so and i noticed something that wasnt in the pics.... ITS STILL SUPERCHARGED!!! that is bad ass marty hahaha i would love to see how that thing feels on the street lol im sure there is no lag with the turbos on that thing lol and even if it doesnt perform it is still a BAD ASS lookin set-up, and the owner is one fo the nicest guys i have ever talked to lol great job on that truck marty im not really a truck guy but god dam lol that thing has stole my heart haha, oh hey by the way i dont mean to jack this thread but do you or anyone you know roll fenders? the 28s i was using are rubbing like a SOB and i dont want to cut the tire anymore so if you could refer me to someone that'll do that id greatly appreciate it.
oh and btw marty i showed my dad your yellow convertible and we both loved how that thing looks, great lookin car buddy, and you wont believe how many people i heard yesterday saying about marshals car " i think this is martys old car" haha kinda funny anyway ill stop writing this book hahaha

Never mind one is a 65 and his is a 66! LOL
Gordons truck works pretty well for such a weird setup. It makes an instant 6 lbs boost off the blower and then ramps up to a maximum of 11 lbs. The turbos are barely breathing at WOT but it keeps the junk short block alive. Plans are in the works to build a real motor and turn it up a bit. It puts down 400 whp as you see it so its not a total poser and can be beaten on daily without failure.
Torquey little bugger too. Not sure what needs done to roll your fenders but i can take a look at it! Thanks for all the compliments man.

that is bad ass man lol still 400 horses is a fun street truck lol and probably a tire burner from hell considering theres no wieght over the rear haha, what turbos were used? they looked kinda small but i guess you dont need much when there is a charger involved haha still its a very pretty pu and i WANT IT!! haha id appreciate it if you could look at it, it doesnt rub on the whole lip i dont think just on the very top of the lip. and hey no problem marty i love all your projects that you have done very clean, professional, and just flat out awesome lol i think your the only guy i know of that has 4+ cars that are all turboed haha, im going on a hunch here you must like turbos huh??? haha just let me know when you wanna take a look at it i know your a busy man so whenever is good for you just let me know
thanks Jason
