how do i keep from pressurizing the crankcase on my car?? i have a pcv, and 1 line from t.b. to pass v.cover. installed a 1 way valve to the vacuum distribution block, and am running the lines to the bov and wastegate from there is this correct??? do i ned to cut holes for breathers in the valve covers? any advise appreciated
thanks

I know the GP guys will put breathers in place of the oil fill cap on the valve cover for pressure issues like that. Not sure if you could do the same thing or not. Breathers are cheap and its worth a shot. :)

You could run a kit like the one from Moroso that uses the exhaust gas velocity to help pull a small vacuum on the crankcase. I think I still have a complete kit I could sell for cheap.

The other option could be to run an electric vacuum pump and pull vacuum on the crankcase. There were several GM cars in the 80s that had factory electric vacuum pumps. Ill see if I can find the list.

I thought some Mustangs used electric vacuum pumps that worked well, but don't quote me on it.

Not knocking the exhaust route, cause it does work, but does it it work enough for something that road driving not just racing?

are we talkin just like a crank case Evac kit?? i just have a single downpipe, i guess i could weld both tubes in same side huh?? maybe it would pull more vacuum with both being in a single pipe?? PM me a price on that kit if you can find it :) i'll give it a shot..

I ran a Mr. Gasket crank case evac kit on my old setup, it worked great! its cheap and requires zero maintenance.

Thats exactly what I did... I ran the two nipples right into the downpipe. Also, something else to consider is if you will be running a cat.

most guys will just run breathers on both valve covers or at least the one and remove and plug the line from the tb to the valve cover. They will also just ziptie some rags over the breather.

I run a breather in each valve cover. I also run a line from the crankcase to the intake right before the throttle body. I have a one way check valve in this line. While normal driving I am pulling vaccum in the crankcase, then when I go into boost I rely on just the breathers in the valve covers.

Some guys run the line from the crankcase to the filter side of the turbo so that they get vaccum all the time even while in boost.

I assume this is for a new engine combination and not an older running motor with excessive blow by? (bad rings)

The Moroso evac setup is a good idea but the breathers themselves are FUGLY as all hell. Billet specialties makes a breather with the 90 degree fittings on top that look a whole lot better and they actually have an aluminum collar that locks them in place.

yes, for a new combo... not even a blowby prob, just need to figure a way to have positive vacuum under boost.. bought a new pcv and that will keep the boost out, but still need to vent motor somehow.... factory 5.0 valve covers dont have provisions for breathers in them, so i'll brpob need some aftermarket v-covers to do this deal. i've tried to install them before in these valve covers and was unsuccessful, due to not being able to securely mount baffles inside them to keed oil splash out of the breathers(messy)
