just got it fired up today, hadn't installed man. gauges yet. had great oil pressure last time ran so i figured it would be fine for an afternoon. i did pull the turbo feed line and started the car... not a drop of oil. hopein i caught it bfore any real damage. we'll see tomorrow when i get the pan off.

Check the oil pump driveshaft and the pick up tube. My pick up tube cracked where the mounting tab is to the main cap. I bought a Milodon tube to replace it, MUCH better tube. Thicker tubing.

You might be ok if you were idling... I made it about a 1/4 mile from my house, noticed no oil pressure, got it turned around, short blip of the throttle to get it moving again and shut it off. Made it home and the pump froze up and twisted the shaft, didn't hurt the engine. It was a little while after I built my first JYTT system (there were some pieces of metal in the pan we figured were some bearing from the IHI turbo's)... I just jacked up the engine as high as I could against the trans tunnel, dropped the oil pan as much as I could and swapped the pump and shaft that way. Just make sure and put a block inbetween the oil pan and block if you do it, little added safety, I did it because that would've sucked with my hand in there.... I don't like to even think of that...

System looks good, I second that on getting it to Rothmund to get it tuned in once you figure out the oil situation. How much timing are you running now?

Like Hilly said... check the pump shaft... pull the distributor, grab a flashlight and see how the shaft looks, if its even still there... quick way to check that issue

i locked the distributor at 20* for now.. i pulled the distributor bfore i yanked the motor and the oil pump d-shaft was there, so not sure what happened yet. bought a tci converter off ebay last summer and when i installed it i did a shift kit at the same time and the car wouldnt shift from 2nd to 3rd anymore, thought i screwed up somethin in the valvebody, but it's doing the same thing now with the new trans... trouble shooting says broken hub in converter would cause this, and it feels super mushy not like a good tight converter. so i gotta make a converter change too... i will keep all informed
thanks..:)

well i pulled th oil pump and pickup, drive looks good. put pickup in the oil bucket and stuck my drill on the pump drive gave it a quick zip and it shot oil bout 3 feet. installed it back in motor and did same thing placing pick up in oil and used drill to turn shaft of old distributor w/o gear on it seemed to start picking oil up but just barely got any out of the turbo feed line, couple squirts like its sucking air somewhere but i cant hear anything like that.. guess i'll replace the oil pump and pickup gaskets first.. if it was an oil galley plug it would still suck oil but it should shoot out somewhere with the pan off right?? i'm just getting drips from here and there when the drill is turning the pump.. any ideas???

If you haven't touched anything else try taking the oil feed line off and putting a mechanical gauge on it and spin the drill.
