did somebody race tonight that didnt change anything from last year?? how were you're times??
i changed some stuff, but the dyno said the power was still there...
anyway on street tires i coould only get a best of 13.001@112.41
and last year on street tires i ran a best of 12.26@117.8
that is a HUGE diff... WTF?????? my 60's sucked but loosing 5 mph isnt gonna happen.. please let me know what kinda luck you had.. let me know if my car is just f-ed up???
thanks

No I think your rxperience was pretty normal from everyone I've talked to. I only bested my PB from last year by 2 tenths, and am making WAY more power than last year. My trap was a bit better than last year 106 compared to 100.
But yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the times I was running. Hell one run I ran a 16 flat spinning and pedaling through the 8th lol. Lets hope it gets better from here!....

I think the traction started out ok but then once the sun went down it got pretty bad. I couldn't get anything better than a 1.84 60ft. We did OK and ended up with an 11.4 at 124, 125, and 126 mph on pump gas. Three times but couldn't get it to hook up.... I have high hopes for tomorrow so we'll see.
Who's coming out tomorrow?

No they didn't. It was slick as shit out there.
Today should be a lot better as I only saw 3 cars with slicks out there last night.

you guys are funny, it was how cold last nite? you had a new track to race on. how was the surface? smooth? how many runs did you get to make. do you think its better as a new improved track should be? and do you think you're smart enough to to adjust the car for changing conditions? what are you going todo when its hot, theres plenty of vht and your car boggs leaving the line?

your right i'm an idiot.. to be honest i didn't know till just now..
the track was nice, traction is definitely an issue..
made 5 passes slowest 13.44, fastest 13.001 all at 112mph
60ft ranged from 2.10-2.66
my car runs pretty close in hot or cold temps (called fuel injection)
just wondering how and why i lost 5mph.. (temp was alot warmer than the finals in the 64 car shootout where i ran 11.86@116)
just trying to see if it was my car or the new timing system..
my buddy is running now at the test and tune, he consistently ran 11.80-90@114 and today his best has been 12.33@108..
PLEASE have patients for those of us that dont know anything...:bigthumbs:

I was pretty happy with the old 4000+lb goat cam and bolt on Managed to get it to go 12.79@111 with a 1.98 60' I am going to throw some stuff at the suspention and come out and see how it does next week it needs gears bad the damn thing doesn't make power till 5k but I guess that's what I get for putting in such a huge cam but it does sound bitchin LOL

I was pretty sickened last night too, I expected to be deep into the 12's atleast. I was running the Pewter 2000 SS Camaro. I just dynoed my car out at Shelly's before I headed out to the track and gained 80hp and 50tq over last year. I put down 410hp and ran a best of 13.1 @ 114mph with a 2.4 60' foot. I spun all the way to the 1/8th mile and the car even spun going into 4th gear, tire speed went from 103mph to 119...
I was happy to be able to run 5 times and it was well organized and put together. Except I think they need to tech somewhere besides the staging lanes. Ya the concrete was slick but I still had a blast. For what its worth my best run last year was a 13.3 @ 110mph with a 2.4 60'. I gained 80hp and only 4 mph so dont feel bad, its all in the track. Bowtiy if you think something is wrong with your car we can go run them on a "closed course" somewhere, we should be pretty similar.
yeah the track is brand new ... track prep sucks on friday nights anyhow... as the year goes on it'll get better ... the dragsters have to put down the rubber on the track so you can hook better.. that's my guess as to why your 60fts were off

track prep sucks for friday night? they vht'd the entire track 1320ft for about 2 hours before you guys got there and were dragging it all week. hell of alot better then last years "prep" the crete just needs to get "seasoned"

it just eats me that i went from having an 11 sec car back to a 12 sec car nobody likes to go backwards... just need to put the sticky tires back on and try it again.. brian said he can do a lot of cleaning up in my low-mid range tune, and maybe get me a few more hp on top by raising the limiter.. i'm sure by switching from a FAST 78mm intake and t.b. to a FAST 90mm intake and t.b. hurt me a bit for low-mid power. and having not retuned after was dumb too.. i'll get it tweaked around and running again for sure.. and the cam is a bit small w/only a 228*@.050 dur.. we'll see what i come up with.. kinda thinkin some AFR 225's, a T-REX camshaft, and 4.56's.. now that i'm going back to work the sky's the limit..

GetawayInMoscow: I don't remember talking to you last night maybe you talked to one of my friends. I do remember you and your friends from last year, he was running a black honda with a turbo and you had your vette out. I was so frustrated last night I was messing with hptuners all night. Thanks for the compliments, I just opened the cutout for a little noise :) You have to love blowing the tires off to the 1/8th mile.
Bowtiy: I know what you mean, add more power and go slower haha. Dont think too much about it you will get your times back with traction. I'm running a smaller cam than what you are now so I dont really think you need duration to make power. My car is a daily driver so the big cam thing doesn't fit me, my car is getting 28 mpg highway, better than stock. If you want to build an awesome streetable drag setup I know someone who could get your what you want for about the same money as the afrs and trex.

not sure what direction i'll go yet.. but when i do make a change i'm sure it'll be a big one.. with only 30k miles on the Z, I dont like to drive it every day.. but i do want to have fun when i do drive it. the moser 12 bolt is startin to make some noise now too, so that will need to come back out and get looked at.
then again i've also got my mustang with a big 'ol turbo waitin to be messed with too..:righton:

Hmm I was definitely talking to a dude in a SS with HPtuners. I only talked to you for like 2 min because I didn't want you to think I was "that guy".
I remember because you were bitching about running low 13's and I was like fuck it your car sounds good! haha

I guess I should just be happy I didn't blow up my 10 bolt. I would rather spin than grenade it at the track. One reason I think a lot of people were trapping low was because the air was really crappy. I have no idea why because it was cool out but my tuning software shows the barometric pressure being around 93 and its usually around 95-97.
Oh ya I do remember talking to you very briefly lol sorry about that. Things were going by like a blur because I was so pissed about running 13s I was trying to figuire out what was up. I'm glad you like the way it sounds, when the cutout is bolted up you can hardly tell the car has a cam.

I guess you must have liked the sound of the Trex on the goat huh but the bad news is that unless the afr's have stock size valves or you fly cut your pistons it won't clear a stock piston you better just go with a 383 LOL and nitrousfed383 I talked to your buddy a bit your car sounded pretty nice. What is this setup that would be better than afr's and a trex? The trex is still the record holder for fastest cam only ls1 and afr's are one of the better heads you can buy there is a few better than those but I think that would be a pretty potent setup. The trex took my 4000lb GTO to a 12.79 if it just had a small shot to get it into the power band it would probably move out pretty hard

Even the cars that have not changed anything and had the same 60 ft times are running 3 to 4 tenths slower, that is simply because the clocks are correct. I ran 11.12 @ 119mph last year and went to Boise, which is close to the same conditions we have here in Spokane and ran 3 tenths slower and trap speeds was down by 3 or 4 mph. These are closer to the times Spokane should be.

I overheard him telling another guy it was his first time at the track with it and the 2 runs I saw he got 13.9, and 14.6 and didnt even crack 100mph. :( Poor bastard.

i havent... but (shouldnt say this out loud) i was lookin at the kit the other day and noticed my nos, and fuel lines were reversed at the foggers.. i had the fuel going into the nos port, and vise versa OOOOOPS!!!! anyway, took a drive afterwards and i hit it in 3rd and had no problem spinning the tires from a 45mph roll.. must say nos-fuel on thise for a reason huh???:p:p:p

I think it's a conspiracy with the times at the track...
Local tuners made them adjust the clocks so everyone would be slow thus everyone will be going back for upgrades and dyno pulls to see wtf is going on.
Brian, you got anything to share with us? :D
