Well i pretty much trashed my convertible this weekend when the crappy rust pitted driveline let go at almost 120 mph and gutted the bottom side of the car pretty good. The driveline was never intended to be used in the car very long but i kinda forgot about it and never replaced it with the good one i had. Luckily my passenger and i didnt get hurt even though it ripped my seat belt anchor right thru the floor and threw debris everywhere. Pretty badass!

Wow... glad your okay. I just dropped my driveline off at Six States about the same time you posted this for a new u-joint and yoke.

Sure makes you think twice about how fast that hunk of steel is spinning underneath the floor. It was a fairly rust pitted driveshaft since after all, it probably laid on the ground for 25 years in a junkyard before i restored the car so i guess its my own damn fault.

Yeah when it rains it pours. I broke EVERYTHING on every car this weekend! One thing about this hobby is you gotta have the mindset that beating the hell out of stuff means it WILL break and you cant get mad about it when it happens.
So i got out the duct tape and super glue and got the ragtop back in action last night! Im so exceedingly cheap that i reused the brand new u joints that were still in the dead driveline and slammed em into another mint condition driveline i found laying in the dirt behind my garage. Heh Heh.
Now its gotta work this time cuz i took the time to paint this one up all pretty so that should mean its perfect right? : )
